1. Smoking is only allowed outside i.e. on deck
2. Please only use single-ply toilet tissue in the toilets - they work a lot differently than household toilets and can easily get blocked with unpleasant and embarrassing consequences.
Hosts were gracious enough to accept me with less than 24 hours before I needed the space. The boat is an experience of a lifetime, hopefully to be repeated. Had some trouble figuring out the wifi and other electronics as well as the toilet and shower, but only a minor inconvenience.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a novel experience.
Highly recommend a stay on Nigel & Lanis' beautiful boats! Sunset arrival, BBQ on the deck, lovely soft cozy bed and a beautiful outdoor sunrise breakfast!
i have stayed in hongkong in many 4 and 5 star hotels.. but this is better then a 5 star hotel!
Love it. and will come again!
Slept so silent on the boat and the rocking in the water was the best method to have a good night sleep.
Very nice experience at What's Next !! Truly nice and enjoyable room in a boat. We spent a couple days in Honk Kong for business, and this was the perfect place to rest.
One thing that must be kept in mind however, is that the boat is moored away from the pier which means that one has to use a sampan (local taxi-boat) to access the boat. It adds a couple bucks per night (10-20 HKD per pers). Quite an experience thought!
We loved it. Exactly the experience that one can live only with AirBnb Thank you Nigel and Lani!

About the Host, Nigel & Lani
Hi I'm Nigel Ford, the co-Founder, of Sun Xi Mountain Retreat with Lailani Ybas. I am a British citizen that has been living and working continuously in Asia since 1982. A Treasury Trade & Risk Manager by profession, I have worked for a number of Financial Services companies such as HSBC, ABN-Amro Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, Thomson Reuters, Misys, Sophis, Calypso & to date SimCorp. My permanent resident home in Asia is Hong Kong.
In 2006 I established a family business - Sun Xi Ventures Co. Ltd with my partner Lailani, my son Timothy and daughter Natasha - to manage our collective assets, interests and passions IN, ON, UNDER, AROUND the SOUTH CHINA SEA.
IOU A SOUTH CHINA SEA encompassed our own lifestyles of swimming, sailing, diving, fishing, walking, driving, flying, farming, living, working and playing - as well as of course our friends, extended family and contacts both social and business related - and we termed this a SUN XI LIFESTYLE and we set about to build a number of ventures around the SUN XI brand.
We started out with Sun Xi Marine, a sea based sail/dive vacation/training/charter business which currently has 3 yachts, namely "Sun Xi", "RJM" and "What's Next?" available for live-aboard.
Sun Xi Mountain Retreat is a socio/eco-tourism project that started in 2006 - up in the cool mountain village of Lepanto, Alegria, Cebu, Philippines - and is ongoing. The concept is to nurture and develop the existing beautiful and rich natural resources of the local people, flora and fauna in their own environment, and allow the visitor a unique opportunity of experiencing this in accustomed comfort, peace and security.
Your stay at Sun Xi Mountain Retreat, whether for a few hours, days or weeks, will undoubtedly enrich your lives and others.
The ambience of Sun Xi Mountain Retreat is akin to "Glamping" or "Glamorous Camping". In every guest room 24 hour electricity and room service, luxuriously appointed comfort rooms with hot showers, LCD/Plasma television, DVD, in-house movies, wireless (complimentary) internet access, bathrobes, non-smoking rooms, mini-bar, coffee/tea maker - are just some of the facilities at your disposal. Outside the grounds of Sun Xi Mountain Retreat, the lands are how they have been for hundreds and hundreds of years - nature on your doorstep. Throughout the day you can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the gardens, surrounding farm-lands and magnificent 360 "heaven on earth" scenery. Have a massage, read a book (or 2 or 3), listen to music, write a song, paint a picture, bird-watch, weather-watch, star-gaze.
If you like to "do stuff" as part of your vacation, you are most welcome to join the project with some farming, gardening, animal husbandry, constructing, landscaping, teaching at the local elementary school. We can accommodate school, religious or charity groups.
Or if you are the more active adventurous type, then hill-walking, mountain-biking and caving are just some of the activities we can readily accommodate on premises. Surrounding Sun Xi Mountain Retreat are literally thousands of hectares of natural scarpland providing endless adventure activities for walkers, bikers, cavers, hand-gliders, golfers, fishing and canoeing at Lumpan Lake, climbing and absailing waterfalls, bathing in thermal hot-springs. The list is endless.
In the past few months we have established Sun Xi Beach Club - also in Alegria, Cebu.
SUN XI - Relax. Rejuvenate. Recreate.
