Our stay at Nosara Retreat has been wonderful. Nosara is a lovely community in which pure nature is being preserved by some active and visionary locals. Deborah is one of those people. The included breakfast is spectacular and the staff helps you out with anything you might need.

Nosara Retreat was exactly what my friend and I were looking for in a Costa Rican vacation. We wanted to do a lot of yoga, be surrounded by nature in a peaceful environment, and close to the beach. Nosara Retreat is beautiful and well cared for. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. The description is accurate, but it is even more beautiful than the photos show. We had howler monkeys in the trees surrounding our room. Yoga is offered a few times a week in the lovely pavilion at Nosara Retreat and the instructors were great. It was also a really close drive to Nosara Yoga Institute and the Bodhi Tree Resort. Playa Pelada is a very short walk and is a beautiful and secluded beach. About a 10 minute walk down the beach there are two restaurants, Olga's and La Luna, that are great for watching sunset. Had the best meal of our entire stay at La Luna and they make great mojiotos. There is also a Mexican and a Italian restaurant in walking distance that are both good. It is a little further to Guiones where there are more restaurants and shops, easy by car but possible to walk along the beach. The roads getting in and out of Nosara are bit rough. We had rented a small car; it was slow going and the potholes were rough on it. I would highly recommend an SUV to make life easier. Would love to stay again!

Wonderful place! Great food and coffee and beach is a 10 min walk from hostel. Place is a little hard to find but if you ask someone they will guide you in the perfect direction! Would definitely come back :)

Our stay at Nosara Retreat was the perfect place for us to get acclimated to Nosara and Costa Rica for the next two months to come. Deborah, Ashley, Gloria and Carlos were amazing and a pleasure to be around. I will never forget the phenomenal breakfasts that the Retreat offers: toast, a whole plate of fruit, smoothie and coffee. I cannot sing enough praises for the hospitality of this place. Although Playa Pelada is a bit far from Guiones (where a lot of the action is), both my partner and I enjoyed the daily 8k walk from and back to the Retreat. The room itself makes us feel as if we're in literally in the middle of the jungle, especially when the howler monkeys' calls become our daily alarm calls and when leaving your food out for anything more than 2mins means sharing your meal with the jungle critters. We have enjoyed our stay so much and I honestly can't recommend it more. Seems like a great place for locals for a weekend yoga getaway, and most definitely for first-timers to get acquainted. Thank you for an awesome time, and I am definitely coming back to see you guys before I leave!

We truly had the Costa Rican experience at nosara retreat! Check-in was easy and smoothe, Ashley was very sweet and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was simple and fit our needs. We definitely had to remind ourselves that we were in nature because of the bugs outside. However, the plus side was that we saw monkeys everyday from our outdoor kitchen. The retreats grounds are very well kept and feel like you're in the jungle. It's also a short 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach. Overall I would recommend this place if you're looking for something simple and low maintenance. Plus, pack bug spray.

Very welcoming place, bright, cherry wonderful breakfast and has so much more than what is in the description! They do yoga (all sorts every morning at 8:30am, do music circles, temezcal, and more)! It was a short walk to the beach and let me tell you it was stunningly romantic and renewing... Whole place is magical. Only thing is when we were there it was dry season, so be prepared for water to be shut off 8 hours a day. It was a wonderful experience that made me much more aware of the water situation in the world and it's amazing how we overuse everything in the states. There was an outdoor kitchen that was loaded with everything we could ask for and every morning the chef Jr. makes a to do for tropical breakfast! Being someone who has celiac disease and multiple food allergies he was VERY accommodating and sweet, I didn't expect that. True hospitality! Would come here again in a jiffy!

I came to Costa Rica in 1989 and fell in love with Playa Pelada, the people and the country. The houses we had built over the years served as a retreat for my extended family. For years, we all came together during the Christmas holidays. Inspired by the vibrant tropical colors and beauty of people and local scenes, I painted pictures for each room. In 1994 I started a B&B on the property and a year later, moved here permanently. My dream for many years was to have a healing center. Recently we began hosting retreats. It is my joy to share this healing paradise with you.
