There is truly something magical about Nosara Retreat. My partner and I stayed at the retreat on our first trip to Costa Rica for what intended to just be a week and a half before moving along to the next town, but after checking in to our next destination we found ourselves missing Nosara retreat, the beach, and the people there so much that we ended our stay early so we could return for another week. Deborah and the staff were so lovely and warm and welcoming that after a week we felt like family. Having morning breakfast of fresh fruit juice and toast gave our stay a nice sense of community with the other guests. Everyone was so helpful in helping us get around and giving us suggestions of where to go in Guiones. Our room was spacious and clean and safe and had a beautiful outdoor kitchen area that was well equipped that I loved cooking in daily. The grounds were fun to explore and were very close to the beach and had a beautiful big yoga pavilion that I definitely wish I had spent more time in. My partner and I are young and fairly active and easily made the 20 minute or so walk into Guiones for groceries almost daily, which never felt that far as we walked along the beach which was beautiful and scenic and filled with friendly faces. Since leaving the town of Nosara and Nosara Retreat I'm already missing it once again and can't wait for the next time I'm in Costa Rica to return. Nosara Retreat feels like a home away from home and the next time we visit we'll be sure to stay even longer.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. I liked the quiet surroundings and I liked lying in my hammock and watching the monkeys go by.
Deborah is an absolutely wonderful person. She did her best to ensure I was comfortable, gave me tips on where to eat, where to go and was just a pleasure to talk to.
The room is nice, clean, well ventilated, and has some hammocks outside where you can relax reading a book or just listening to the delicious sounds of the jungle.
The Nosara Retreat is absolutely stunning, however it is truly Deborah and Theresa who made the experience indelible! Their incredible kindness brought joy to my stay in the Star Fruit Room. Deborah and Theresa are knowledgable of the area and recommended a slew of exciting activities to take part in. We especially had a lot of laughs in a belly dancing class we took on site at the Nosara Retreat together. 10/10 would do it again!
Hope to see you again, pura vida!
place was great.... i really enjoyed the quiet, away from the bustle of Guiones. the stars were fantastic.
We simply loved our stay at NosaraRetreat (Nosara BnB).
1- The place is a little paradise in the jungle, but 5 minutes walk to the beach. It's calm, serene. We stayed in the casita and prior, in a beautiful little room of the rancho. I can say I am rather someone picky, and I have nothing but great things to say about the place. Every morning we were served an amazing breakfast in the beauty of the jungle! There's also a nice yoga hall, part of the resort, where they sporadically give yoga classes, workshops, and we took a lot of them which we loved!
2- Deborah and Theresa are two amazing person. Theresa was a little angel on our path, that saved me a lot of trouble my first night in Liberia (costa rica travelers, reserve in advance and travel with a jeep if you have to !) So warm, gentle and welcoming. Deborah will greet you with an open heart in her place. Such a sweet and amazing women.
3- If you are looking for a nice place to take long walks on the beach, surf, do yoga, be close tho the action, yet far from the noise of Nosara guiones, you will love this place!
We had a wonderful time in the casita. It was spacious and comfortable. We cooked in the week-equipped kitchen and enjoyed local foods. Deborah was a fabulous host - so kind and welcoming. We'd go back there any time.
The Mango and Papaya Room are on the top floor of the "Tree House". they share an outdoor kitchen and a super nice seating area and hammocks. The rooms are clean and nice ! It is close to the beach and some great Bars and Restaurants. Great location and please be aware that all of Nosara is only reachable by dirt roads. So don't even think to drive your ultra low sports car there ;)
The host Deborah and her Staff were amazing and it was a blast to stay there!
I traveled all over Costa Rica and this was by far the best place that I stayed at along the way. The Papaya Room in the tree house is amazing. Everything is open air except for the bedrooms. The kitchen, living area, hammocks, and table are all outdoors and amazingly relaxing. If you don't mind the possibility of being woken up by monkeys in the morning, you will absolutely love this place. I personally enjoyed the monkey wake up call everyday, and feeling like I was sleeping in the jungle. Deborah is the sweetest and most caring woman and was incredibly accommodating. She helped us with anything we needed and was more than willing to give us advice on where to go, or even set up activities for us. After surfing hard all day long, Deborah suggested a yoga class in the pavilion on the property to help us relax into the evening. We had an awesome teacher who led us in a first time yoga class. Deborah is amazing and this bed and breakfast tucked up and away in the trees was far better than we expected and an experience of a lifetime. The pictures don't do it justice, you should stay here!
Kyle and I loved staying at the Nosara BnB. Deborah and the crew were such lovely hosts and really made us feel at home. They were MORE than accommodating with us and helped us through booking surf lessons, zip lining, as well as info on turtle watching, hikes and other excursions. We loved having the kitchen to make lunch and keep our beers cold. The room was a great size and very comfortable. The beach was a perfect 5 minute walk away. I also took advantage of practicing yoga at the beautiful pavilion. We really enjoyed the wonderful staff at Nosara BnB and are very grateful for their role in our great beach vacation.
