It's the perfect place to stay whether for business or pleasure. For convenience and independence, there is self-service access via keysafes, but I or a nice neighbour will always be on hand to help you with anything you might need... so make yourself at home in my home!
There's no better place in town to stay!
Babies / toddlers: the flat is baby / toddler tested, has a child-safety gate, and hardwood enamelled floor for easy cleaning. There is room to leave a pram in the communal hallway downstairs.
Additional guests: there is a futon in the lounge, and a mezzanine double bed for upto 4 extra guests to sleep. There is also a second bathroom, so less waiting for the shower!
Guests have the apartment to themselves nothing is shared there, but there is also a communal hallway with room to leave a pram or bicycle.
Interaction with Guests
There is the option of self-service access to the flat so guests may have total independence and privacy. But I live downstairs and am more than happy to provide suggestions or help with your trip, and can sometimes join you or even take you on a trip :-)
Being right by the town centre there is lots to see and do, and yet the flat is tucked behind the garden of an old cottage making it very quiet. For outdoors there is Monkton park just next which door offers a great space for walking, running along the river, and there is a golf course and health centre with pool, spa, squash courts, and full fitness programmes all available on pay-as-you-go basis. A few minutes walk away is John Coles park which has a band stand with live music playing in the summer months. Both parks have excellent childrens playgrounds.
The old town has plenty of character, and there is a museum giving free tours, and a comprehensive tourist information office. All 5 minutes walk from the flat.
The flat is situated just across the road from Chippenham railway station, with direct line to Bath, Bristol, London etc, and buses to local villages such as Castle Combe and Lacock (Harry Potter). There is a taxi rank at the station and also at the bottom of the road, and for groups this is an economical option (rates around 10 pounds to many local villages)

This flat is an absolute gem hidden in the heart of Chippenham. While the space is small it has been cleverly organised so it feels spacious and, in our case, could accommodate a family of 5. The flat is nicely decorated and furnished was a relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day. Alex was really great with communication and so getting in to the flat and getting going was easy and straightforward. The location is great, with Sainsburys Local just opposite, a lovely park & playground just down the hill with a riverside walk along the Avon, and the town centre only a very short walk over the river. About the only slightly awkward thing was that there is no parking right by the flat, but there is free off peak parking on the next road, and a pay and display car park at the train station opposite.
I stayed with friends for a weekend in Alex's lovely place in Chippenham. We all loved it! It was really cosy, comfortable and a perfect location to travel around the area. Very close to supermarkets, restaurants and local pubs. Alex wasn't around at the time but communication was perfect. Highly recommended! Thanks Alex!
My first experience with Airbnb could not have been better!!! I fell in love with the apartment which is beautifully restored. The apartment is literally two minutes walk from the train station, which allows great access to the likes of London, Bristol and Bath! Chippenham is a beautiful town and has nice places to eat and great coffee shops if you don't want to stray too far! Alex was a great host and so willing to answer any questions I had! Couldn't recommend it enough!
Staying here was incredibly convenient - from the location a minute's walk from the station, to the system of entering the apartment via keys kept in coded safes. The apartment itself is incredible at this price - I loved the wooden floors, stone walls, the views out over gardens, trees and old stone cottages.
The beds are comfortable, the showers are hot and powerful, everything is cosy and comfortable, even the rustic clay crockery is noteworthy. I recommend this place very highly.
We had a fantastic time at the stables, it was a wonderful place to stay and great value for money. It was just as described and we would recommend it to anyone.
We had a lovely Christmas in the Stable at Chippenham. It was very peaceful yet right in the middle of town and extremely well located for the station (easy access to Bath,Bristol, Reading, London). On the edge of the Cotswolds it's a great base for exploring. The flat is well appointed & comfortable. We felt very at home and relaxed. There are plenty of good facilities nearby (shops, pubs, leisure centre, parks all within a couple of minutes walk).
Alex was very kind and a good host.
No complaints at all - great place to stay.
The apartment is in a great location, really close to the station yet so peacefull and quiet. The amenities within the appartment were better than expected. Dvd player, stereo, towels, all kitchen utensils, herbs, spices and basic kitchen provisions, loads of books and entertainments. A really great find. Alex was communicative and flexible, arranging early check in. This was my first Airbnb experience and I am glad to say it was wholly positive.
