Alexa was great and greeted me with a warm welcome. She was extremely flexible with the time to meet and grab the keys. Her flat was beautiful, spacious, artsy and fun! I was only in town for one night for business but will definitely be back for a longer stay soon. Alexa offered great resturant suggestions and fun activities for the night. I will definitely be back and staying at Alexa's again!
My friend and I loved staying at the apartment. It's a great location in a very unique and charming apartment building. Alexa was very helpful getting in and was always available to communicate if I had any questions. I would definitely stay at this listing again.
Alexa's home is clean and wonderful, and just as described in the posting! We loved having morning coffee on the balcony in particular. I also appreciated that she kept the kitchen/bathroom stocked with small homey items so that we didn't have to bring them and/or buy them in Tacoma. Alexa also gave us a brief run down of the neighborhoods and what to do in Tacoma, and provided us with some great recommendations for dining. Thanks for the great stay!
Alexa met us at the agreed upon check-in time. She gave us a tour of her lovely light-filled apartment and explained the various keys on the guest keyring. She showed us the location of extra linens, soaps, and other supplies - also of the laundry facilities. She shared a little about the various building inhabitants - artists, retired people, etc. As a native Tacoman I didn't really need an explanation of the lay of the land - so we went on to other subjects. We shared a little of our professional backgrounds and interests. I explained that I had several family members in the area - and that I planned on making good use of the well-equipped kitchen to host a dinner party in the apartment during our stay. Alexa encouraged me to use the space in any way necessary to show them a good time. She told me to be sure and call her if I needed anything - and wished us a good visit.
I had my family members - eight adults and two small children - over for dinner a week later. The plethora of available seating areas, tables, and chairs made for many entertainment possibilities. We had a sit-down dinner at the large table - using two available banquets along each side. We added chairs (one borrowed from my sister) on each end. As the host I was busy serving - going between the kitchen and the dining room. I snuck a few quick bites at the taller table in the living room. Everyone had a wonderful time - and had nothing but favorable comments about the great apartment space. The 2 1/2 year-old enjoyed the "games/art closet" at the end of the main hall. She left a "masterpiece" art drawing on the refrigerator as a thank-you to Alexa's hospitality.
I'm already looking forward to my next stay in Tacoma at this lovely apartment building with its great views of The Mountain and Wright Park. The building is very quiet - and all of the tenants I encountered were friendly and welcoming. We even became
"regulars" at The Hob Nob on nearby 6th Avenue - still there since my childhood!
I bought fresh-roasted coffee to grind myself at Valhalla Coffee Co. on 6th Avenue. And I found all of my family dinner ingredients at the nearby Thriftway supermarket - even the flowers for the table.
I heartedly recommend Alexa's apartment to anyone planning a long - or too short - stay in Tacoma.
What a spectacular flat! The balcony out there front window was awesome and gave us a chance to sit outside and enjoy a beer while looking out at the beautiful park across the street. We slept great in the bed and really enjoyed our night there. Alexa was great, very responsive. We'd love to start again our next time in Tacoma!
