Apartment was nice, smelled good, clean. Maurice was a great host & helpful when needed! Always available parking before 10pm. What more could you ask for for a great price! Would stay again!
I had a great TIME!! Maurice was super nice and cool. He made everything so safe. The house was so comfy and roomy. The bathroom was amazing I took an hour nap in the tub (I loved every min of that nap to) The bedroom was very sexy Maurice had set candles on top of the fire place(major plus) the bed was like heaven on earth it was very hard for me to get up in the morning . And the best part about his house is that everything is walking distance, the store was right around the corner and open 24hr.
We (2 couples) stayed for 8 Nights at Maurice`s Appartement and enjoyed our time very much. Everything was very well. The appartement is exactly as described and as you see on the pictures. It`s absolutely clean and very spacious. Perfect for 4 persons. Nice bathroom with a good hot shower. It`s a ten minute walk to the subway station and after that appr. a 40 minute ride to Manhattan.
Maurice is a very kind and warmhearted host. We miss him. If we will ever come back to NY he is the first address to stay.
The room was the same as he describe! Nice place to stay and close to the subway station. Also, the neighborhood was really nice! The owner, Maurice is a good person to talk with ... But I had a little problem for heat and a hot water! The day we arrived Oct 28,he was not there and I called him exactly as I told him! His mother gave is a key and told us not to touch the heat??? We arrive at the Airport earlier than we supposed to be which I expected though from many time to use same flight to NY. We were exhausted after12 and half hour long flight! We didn't have a heat and good hot water for first day! Maurice's notice that there is a heat problem since last guest was there! I didn't want to have any trouble through the conversation with him! He actually tried fix the heat problem. But the problem start from the day we arrived... the second day he told us to use the oven to warm up the room and After he bought a small heat , he gave us the heater and it was OK. But the heat problem has continued ... In fourth day, Maurice told us the boiler got broken ... So the entire building must to shut down soon! Then I had to look for new place for a short time and I needed a month stay... Luckily I found the place. But I stayed until Nov 4 th! I was supposed to stay there 6 wks. I have already paid a money for a month fee! I thought it is the best if the total refund was deduct from the monthly fee! But he told me to pay the weekly price which was much more charge ... I wanted negotiate the price with him. But he told me that the problem was mine. Not his ... He also mention about extra $500 which he asked me before we book the place! Because Nov is 6 wks. He wanted to charge me extra $500. But this was I agreed .... He didn't charge for it at the end ... He told me if I don't pay the money for a week rate . He will charge $500 and it will cost more ... So I decided to pay a week rate. Also I though there is no negotiation in that time. He has tight up his opinion.... As I wrote I paid the weekly rate at the end! I could not negotiate with him well. I had to paid extra $375 more... Though I paid more than I thought it would be fair for both of us. I actually paid less...
First I would like to apologize to all the future guests of my brownstone. My home is everything I advertise; read any comments above or below Yoko's comment and it's clear that my place is indeed very comfortable, clean & warm. However, on the 26th of October 2013, the heating system of the building failed. This was understandably an inconvenience for the guest that was staying there at the time, but they were awesome and we worked out a percentage to take off. Now my next guest, Yoko, was set to arrive the next day after the heat failed. Mom was at our home waiting to greet Yoko and her daughter, arriving early. Mom assisted Yoko with all five luggages to the apartment on the 2nd floor, while Yoko attended to her 3 yr old daughter. The plumber was set to arrive the morning after her arrival to repair the heater's motherboard and needed access to the apartment. Unfortunately, Yuko couldn't be there, as well as the next day, so I purchased her a small heater and she pretends that it's ok but continues to complain.
Now the previous before the last guest, not holding it against him lost my other set of keys - which means I had one set left and Yoko has them. When I asked her to give them to me in the morning before she leaves so that I can gain access to the apartment to fix the heat, she said she didn't want me to also have access to her living space! Without the keys, meant I had to stay home and not go to work, and that wasn't an option, so I asked her to find another place. Yoko was ok with it, she had recently found a daycare in the city & wanted to relocate to the city. Airbnb refunded Yoko immediately and Yoko was able to secure another place in the city like she now wanted. In any event Yoko requested to stay until Nov 4th because the other half of her party set to arrive at my home on Nov 3rd. Yoko requested a late check out and wasn't charged for it.
I highly recommend staying at this apartment! It is lovely and bright, very clean and very modern with everything you need. It is located within a short walking distance to subway lines that take you straight into town.
Maurice was extremely helpful in every way. Brilliant, friendly host, he made me and my family feel very relaxed and comfortable. He made checking in and checking out extremely easy and was on call should we have needed him, with local knowledge, maps, taxi numbers and more!
Many Thanks once again Maurice for an excellent stay!
Great appartement and great host. All was very clean and new. Maurice was very helpful and kind.
My friends and I stayed for a weekend and loved the apartment. There was enough room for 6 people, the kitchen had all the utensils we needed, there was an ipod dock, and the washroom was great. It was close to the subway and really easy to get to Manhattan. Maurice is very friendly. We got to the apartment earlier than the check in time and he allowed us to leave our luggage there. We only had one issue in terms of communicating the location of the apartment. But we had a great time, and Maurice is a great host!
We stayed at Maurice's aptm for 3 nights. We were 3 couples from France and (website hidden)é place was perfect for us, Maurice very warm and helpful, parking for the car on the street. The apartment is similar to pictures, brand new and quiet. We strongly recommend the place. By train, about 50 minutes to Time Square, several lines.
Our stay at Maurice's place was fantastic. I was traveling with my two older parents, sister, and boyfriend. The flat is on the third floor (accessible by stairs) of a beautiful rowhouse. The home is well kept and extremely comfortable, including the large shower, spacious bathroom, easy futon and super cozy beds. The ipod/iphone doc was a nice touch to jam out to our own tunes. The place is in a very cool neighborhood. We felt safe but nowhere near where a usual tourist would stay. It's an easy half mile (ish) walk to convenient subway lines to take you into the city. The people watching on the subway on the way to Manhattan was one of the perks of the experience. Can't say enough good things about Maurice. Super nice, easy to talk to, communicates ahead of time. Highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic Brooklyn experience.
