Our stay at Debrah's barn was absolutely amazing. It was far better than it looked in the photos. It was very remote, but that is what we preferred. It was a great location for exploring the dordogne valley and a lovely drive to nearby villages. Beynac and sarlat were around 45 minutes to an hour away. The landscape around her house is gorgeous and the sunrises were unreal! Debrah welcomed us with homemade pie and bread her husband baked. They even started a fire in the fireplace and kept us well stocked with wood and kindling. Her children were adorable!! I wish we could have had more time there, It was hard to leave! I highly recommend this lovely home.
Really good rental and in a good location for us. We had children which were well catered for in terms of bedding, chair, playground. Having a car is a must to see the many things to see and do in the area in only a short drive away.
Deborah and her family were really nice people and did their utmost to help out. They were kind and considerate and did their best to communicate with us in English as our French was terrible.
Travellers from other countries need to know that certain things are not as widely available or desired in this area of France and need to go with the (email hidden); shopping hours, food types, mod cons. We needed to adjust to shopping at markets, changing what we ate on a regular basis and live with the basics more. Not a bad experience, just different.
This accommodation was very comfortable and provided all the facilities necessary for a little inspired home cooking. This beautiful location provides a real taste of French rural life. The countryside is pristine .A car is a must for visiting nearby villages, the closest being Beaumont du Perigord.
We were so glad to arrive at Deborah's 'barn' after a very long drive. She came to meet us in town to take us out and she had a lovely warm fire waiting for us. Everything was ferry clean with beautiful furnishing. The only thing we missed was the wifi connection not making it to the barn and the password not winking. However Deborah let us use her computer for what we needed. A lovely stay and very warm host!
