Deborah, Richie, Gloria and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome. They did a great job helping to set up activities for us. The Mango room is very simple and nice and just what one needs to get away from it all. The yoga pavillion is also very nice, although we only used it once. Playa Pelada itself is very charming little village and seems very safe (except for the driving which takes a little getting used to). If you want a bit more action Playa Guiones is just down the road. Deborah and staff helped make our stay in Nosara a great combination of adventure and relaxing. Pura Vida.

This hotel is very well located if you want to be in a more quiet setting, away from guiones. Playa pelada is slightly more rustic than guiones, and has a more laid back feel. The hotel is located on a jungle hillside, and is a short walk to the playa. The rooms are clean and the staff very responsive and helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

A perfect Costa Rica retreat. Our time here was tranquil and fabulous. Deborah was an amazing hostess and made us feel welcome and at home. Gave us great information and helped us enjoy the area. Marick was great to chat with and treated us to fresh fruit liquados every morning with breakfast. Specially made Hot Coco for my daughter. The room was clean, tropical and just our style. The outdoor kitchen was great! Just steps to the beach it was perfect for our 5 year old. We went horseback riding, river tour, a yoga teacher came to the B&B a gave a great class one morning. We had a troop of howler monkeys visit in the morning and Humming birds too! Highly Recommend!

The Mango and Papaya Room are on the top floor of the "Tree House". they share an outdoor kitchen and a super nice seating area and hammocks. The rooms are clean and nice ! It is close to the beach and some great Bars and Restaurants. Great location and please be aware that all of Nosara is only reachable by dirt roads. So don't even think to drive your ultra low sports car there ;) The host Deborah and her Staff were amazing and it was a blast to stay there!

Nosara Retreat is perfect for what we were searching for: privacy and relaxation! Driving there is an adventure (if you drive through Samara you have to cross a river, which is no problem). The Mango room was big and clean. The outdoor kitchen was right in front of it, we could use the fridge and coffee ma-chine. We also really liked the outdoor area with the hammocks. The B&B is quite near to the beach, it´s just a 5 minutes’ walk. Most of the time we have been alone there. Deborah and her team were nice hosts. We felt welcomed all the time and liked to talk to them. Also they served a fresh and healthy breakfast every morning. You have the possibility to do yoga there but we didn´t.

I came to Costa Rica in 1989 and fell in love with Playa Pelada, the people and the country. The houses we had built over the years served as a retreat for my extended family. For years, we all came together during the Christmas holidays. Inspired by the vibrant tropical colors and beauty of people and local scenes, I painted pictures for each room. In 1994 I started a B&B on the property and a year later, moved here permanently. My dream for many years was to have a healing center. Recently we began hosting retreats. It is my joy to share this healing paradise with you.
