Nosara Retreat is perfect for what we were searching for: privacy and relaxation! Driving there is an adventure (if you drive through Samara you have to cross a river, which is no problem). The Mango room was big and clean. The outdoor kitchen was right in front of it, we could use the fridge and coffee ma-chine. We also really liked the outdoor area with the hammocks. The B&B is quite near to the beach, it´s just a 5 minutes’ walk. Most of the time we have been alone there. Deborah and her team were nice hosts. We felt welcomed all the time and liked to talk to them. Also they served a fresh and healthy breakfast every morning. You have the possibility to do yoga there but we didn´t.

Deborah, Richie, Gloria and the rest of the staff made us feel very welcome. They did a great job helping to set up activities for us. The Mango room is very simple and nice and just what one needs to get away from it all. The yoga pavillion is also very nice, although we only used it once. Playa Pelada itself is very charming little village and seems very safe (except for the driving which takes a little getting used to). If you want a bit more action Playa Guiones is just down the road. Deborah and staff helped make our stay in Nosara a great combination of adventure and relaxing. Pura Vida.

We loved the place! Close to the beach, that's always nice. The best part is the fact that you are in a treehouse in the jungle! Just chill in the hamacs and watch the monkeys go tree to tree. The breakfast was full of fresh fruits. Ashley made this delicious breakfast smoothie and boy it fills you up! We only stayed 1 night and that was a big mistake... We should have stayed there much longer... We highly recommend this place!

This hotel is very well located if you want to be in a more quiet setting, away from guiones. Playa pelada is slightly more rustic than guiones, and has a more laid back feel. The hotel is located on a jungle hillside, and is a short walk to the playa. The rooms are clean and the staff very responsive and helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

We head a great time at this retreat. Breakfasts were always great with smoothies, toast with home made marmalade and fresh fruit! It was a short walk away from the beach that was almost always empty! Great views of the sunset and good swimming up near the beach side restaurant. I would suggest having a car if you are staying here as we didn't and we had to walk through the beach to get to the little villages.

Deborah made us feel very welcome! The beach was beautiful, private and close by. Many days we felt like we had the beach to ourselves. The pictures of the room did not do it justice. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was fully stocked so you could do our own cooking. We loved the healthy, filling breakfast. We would definitely stay here again!

I came to Costa Rica in 1989 and fell in love with Playa Pelada, the people and the country. The houses we had built over the years served as a retreat for my extended family. For years, we all came together during the Christmas holidays. Inspired by the vibrant tropical colors and beauty of people and local scenes, I painted pictures for each room. In 1994 I started a B&B on the property and a year later, moved here permanently. My dream for many years was to have a healing center. Recently we began hosting retreats. It is my joy to share this healing paradise with you.
