We are located in a rural area of Arroyo Grande next to Highway 1. The beaches are a short driving distance away.
Laura & Ben are exceptional hosts and the ranch is beautiful. Highly recommended if you want an easy place to camp close to the ocean and vineyards. The firepit and the animals were a joy as well! Highway 1 did not interfere with my sleep at all contrary to what some other reviewers said.
My girlfriends and I stayed for a bachelorette party and it was one of the most beautiful and cutest spaces to camp that we could've asked for. Much nicer than a campsite where you can't always control which space you get and your neighbors. Laura and her family are so sweet and gracious.
We did like the place with the Doty's!
We were warmly welcomed and found a great place to stay :-). The area to stay is wonderful. Close by the beach, sourrounded with nice villages and vineyards around.
When we arrived, there were more airbnb guest around, so we sat around the campfire and enjoyed chatting and a cold drink.
This is a really nice place to stay!
We would come again!
Laura and Ben are great people and have a great place as well. I've stayed there 3 different times and always had a nice time. The property is amazing with all the work they have put into it. Highly recommend!
This place is just awesome! Laura and Ben are very great hosts and very nice people! We stayed there with our campervan and had a great night. There is a fireplace where you can cook and you can get a beautiful view on the ocean. Of course it is near the highway 1 but that did not bother us! You can get some earplugs for free ;) Thank you, Laura and Ben!
The place is very nice. All the decoration is homemade, there is many animals and I was just like a child. Laura and Ben were really welcoming and nice, you can count on them.
Love the place. Will definitely stay again if I am ever in the area. Felt right at home.
Laura and Ben are wonderful hosts and the property is amazing - the product of a lot of tlc. My friend and I camped there for two nights and thought it was just a great set-up and the wash-house is such a pleasant amenity. As I believe has already been mentioned, the road is noisy - very noisy. Bring earplugs... or have a few glasses of wine before hitting the hay! I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but it can be challenging to get past the noise as you're settling down for the night (one and only reason I gave 4 stars vs. 5). Regardless, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. Additionally, the burrito place down the road made one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had! It was big enough for breakfast and lunch!
We had a wonderful time in Arroyo grande. Laura and Ben are really kind hosts and open. I highly recommend their place for relaxing, enjoying their beautiful environnment designed by Ben who is a really creative and to enjoy the presence and love from the dogs, cats, horses and chickens.
My family and I had a wonderful time here. My kids just wanted to stay around Laura's place more than they wanted to go to the beach. Loved the outdoor kitchen area with fireplace and pizza oven. Laura and Ben let my kids make pizza's with them, which turned out yummy. We enjoyed spending the evening with them by the warm fire.
Loved all the creative things they have done to thier place. The traffic didn't bother us in the least. We were in a rv and we listen to music all night. We do that everywhere we camp. We also enjoyed the animals. When you go there look for Joe Dirt, the rooster with the crazy feathers on his head that looks like a punk rooster. lol :)
Recommend it! Fun times.
