This is a lovely and charming loft in the woods of Wellfleet. The Barn was hand crafted years ago and built with many found objects both near and far. It is quite unique and full of local charm. It is an easy walk to Gull Pond or through the woods to Newcomb Hollow Beach, this property abutting the Cape Cod National Seashore is conveniently located for an outer cape vacation experience. Here find the most romantic beaches on Cape with dramatic dunes and vistas.
The Wellfleet Beachcomber at Cahoon Hollow Beach is a world renouned dance club and dont miss the 'Oyster Shooters' they serve at the oceanfront bar.
The historic Wellfleet fishing village is full of great restaurants, shops, galleries and pirate lure. Fishing charters, surf lessons, boat rentals, kajak tours are all available in Wellfleet.
This is a fantastic spot to enjoy an outer cape experience.
Please no smoking in the building...thanks
Our stay was great, loved the place and the host David is a real character!!
This is our second stay at David's loft in Wellfleet. It is very cozy and close to the beaces and resturants.
Very pleasant and simple space. Beautiful upper deck in the tree tops- great place to sit with a glass of wine and rock in the two rocking chairs available. kitchen is basic yet functional- if you plan on cooking I would recommend bringing your own supplies- few pots and pans, etc. The loft is super close to the cute town of Wellfleet, and is about a minute from the beach. It is also a really nice if you run or walk to take a run over to Gully Pond. There is a nice trail that has some beautiful views of the pond. Overall a great experience- just what we were looking for.
We had a lovely time in this very cute loft! It's a great place for a simple, quiet get-away, and we would absolutely recommend it for a couple who wanted a place to relax. The neighborhood was quiet, and the deck is great for sitting and watching the stars. Very close to Wellfleet center and ponds, and the delicious Moby Dick restaurant!
One of the previous reviews said something about the place not being clean, but we didn't find that to be true at all - the loft was clean and in fine condition when we got there. The kitchen has minimal basics and no microwave. Be aware that you have to climb two flights of stairs to get to the door, so if you have bad knees, that could be hard.
The loft is exactly what we were looking for. Being able to sleep with the doors and windows open every evening was a delight. (we came home to 101 temperatures in OK). The place was clean and tidy as described. The back deck was perfect for ending our day or as a quick place to land before we headed out for the evening. The loft is hidden by trees and which provided some privacy with being able to have the doors open, etc. We didn't actually meet David but he was very prompt at returning our texts and providing us with up to date information. We visited Cahoon Beach which is just a few minutes from the loft. This beach does not require a beach sticker (that you have to get from Wellfleet). It cost us $20 to park but you get a voucher for $20 to spend at the Beachcomber (t-shirts, etc. right there at the beach). Thank you David for allowing us to stay at your place!!
David was wonderful. We were actually many hours late because of a multi-hour traffic jam, and he called to make sure that we were ok. David was home when we finally arrived, and was warm, welcoming, and helpful.
The place was gorgeous, and had a cozy, rustic feel. We were on the second floor, surrounded by trees and sky, made constantly visible by the large windows and double sliding glass doors. The high ceilings and wood beams were lovely, and the porch was perfect for reading and relaxing. There were beautiful flowers growing all around the property.
