About this listing
If you like to step out of an antique building and be in front of the Vatican with Sant Peters and the Sistine chapel, the Leonine Walls to your right and in short walking distance to Castel Sant Angelo ( 0.2miles), the Vatican Museum ( 0.3 miles ), Piazza Navona ( 0.6 miles ), Piazza del Popolo ( 0.8 miles ), Ara Pacis (0.7 miles ), Mausoleo of Adrian and the centre of Rome with famous Via Condotti and the small side streets with its italian style boutiques and excellent fine dining restaurants as well as the more casual trattorias, this is the place to stay.
The apartment on the second floor - completely renovated and newly decorated in June 2012 - hosts perfectly a family of 5 or group of friends.
The "Palazzo" is an antique buidling with its typical roman atmosphere inside, old walls, staircase and doors and an incredible nice view from the roof top ( not decorated but great to have a look and take some pictures ). Downstairs there is a typical italian breakfast bar, a trattoria and a small supermarket is around the corner. Great infrastructure with busses in front.
The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a king size ( 200 x 180 cm ) bed and the other bedroom has two single beds 180 x 190 cm.
The bathroom ( as all the other rooms ) is brandnew and full of light and has a comfortable shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and gives the possibility to cook and enjoy breakfast and lunch or dinners during sightseeingor shopping tours, there is a comfortable dining table in the living room (website hidden), wifi!!! The apartment is nicely decorated, modern and with lots of light wich is a nice counterpart to the antique buildings, sightseeing spots and the medieveal surrounding of Borgo Pio.

Website information about the apartment was accurate. I was received by the host upon arrival, and all of the apartment's amenities -- stove, clothes washer, internet, and so on -- were explained to me. I was also given information about the neighborhood -- e.g., a Carrefour Express to purchase food (and wine) is less than a block away. The best thing about this apartment is its location: about a 5 min. walk from the Castel Sant'Angelo, 10 minutes (maximum) from St. Peter's, 20 minutes from Piazza Navona. One of the main bus lines -- the 40 Express, ending in Termini -- is a block away. And a tabacci store, to purchase bus and Metro tickets, is also a block away. To repeat, the location is ideal. The apartment is comfortable and well provided -- nice beds, small but well appointed kitchen with plenty of plates and service, good shower, a table that seats four, plenty of seating space to relax, good light from the windows, which also provide cross ventilation, but there is also air conditioning if necessary. We had four adults staying at the apartment at various times, and we were comfortable. I lived at the apartment for 5 weeks -- from mid-May to late-June (2015). Other posts have underscored the street noise: yes, there is clearly noticeable street noise outside the main bedroom and dining room -- cars, buses, motos, and the occasional ambulance. The second bedroom -- twin beds -- is much quieter. To be honest, I got used to it in one night; my wife used soft ear plugs. I think the noise is part of the cost of being so centrally located. This apartment is an ideal place from which to get to know Rome.
The website offers a rating choice of 4 or 5 stars: I put down 5, but more accurately I'd say 4 1/2.
Absolute top. Super location, close to the Vatican and city center.
The appartement was spacious, clean and cosy. When you go for a city break in Rome, I can recomend you this place.
This apartment makes true on every promise, and more. Only when we arrived did we realize that the Vatican is literally around the corner. The nearby bus stops, restaurants and supermarket also make for an excellent location. The neighborhood is lively enough to make it interesting, connected enough to make it practical, yet quiet enough to get a good night's sleep. And the apartment itself is spacious and well-equipped, making it a very comfortable place to stay.
Really nice apartment in a great location. Close to the vatican and a nice walk or bus ride to most other sights. It was clean and spacious and we had a great wknd basing ourselves here. There are nice resturants nearby and a good spot on the corner to grab brekkie on your way to town.
We had a very nice stay in this appartment, which is located close to almost everything interesting when visiting Rome. We found a street with a lot of great restaurants just around the corner. The appartment is perfect for 4 people.

About the Host, Alessia
I am an italian architect who loves to combine interior design and landscaping. I believe there should be harmony between humans, architecture, landscaping and our environment on earth. Following this philosophy I created Villa Ghiande e Ghirlande together with my five children. It is our paradise in nature to relax, invite friends for homemade pasta, enjoy life and keep alive the creativity I need for new projects.
