The Space

A fine example of Pelion’s architecture, It is an almost 200 year-old mansion tucked away in a quiet, peaceful part of Vizitsa, a picturesque mountainous village with a panoramic view of Pagasitiko Gulf. The high three-storey stone building is a fine example of the architectural style of Pelion. There are 5 double or twin rooms, one triple room, one quadraple room, one deluxe room, one junior suite(maisonette) and one apartment. Traditionally decorated, the rooms and suites offer an LCD TV, DVD/CD player and minibar. Free toiletries, slippers and hairdryer are included in the bathroom. Some units have a spa bath, seating area or sea view.

Each morning a Continental breakfast is prepared. The on-site restaurant serves local and customary dishes daily. Various drinks and beverages are (email hidden) throughout the day. Room service is also accessible. Cafés-bars and restaurants are within walking distance

The rooms can accommodate up to 4 people or 5 people in the apartment. More than 4 people will need to book another room.

The guesthouse consists of areas where a person can relax, be rejuvenated and renewed, be in harmony with mankind and the environment. Its comfortable and hospitable surroundings have been designed with respect to tradition.

The round tables set close to the floor (sofrades) and the covered verandahs (hagiatia), the hand-woven items, the laces, the wood and stone work are all here to take you on a journey into the past, a journey full of vitality and colour.

Vizitsa is an open museum as a result of the distinct grandeur of the Pelion-type architecture. It’s located between the villages of Milies and Pinakates and only 30km from Volos at a height of 500m in a perfect mountainous environment. From there, the view of Pagasitiko Gulf takes your breath away.
In 1976, the Greek National Tourism Organization launched the project for the restoration and reconstruction of the old, three-storey stone manor houses and their transformation into guest houses. As you wander along the cobbled lanes that criss-cross the village, you come across stone fountains decorated with sculptured marble. The central square is shaded by large plane trees and it has the covered stone fountain called ‘Mousga’, offering cool running water to all the visitors.
A must for visitors is the monastery of John the Baptist (built in 1789) and the three-aisled basillica of the Life Giving Fountain (Zoodcho Pigi) built in 1725. There is also the small church of Athona.

Airport or any other transport is available upon demand at an additional but very reasonable cost.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the mansion in Visitsa in Pelion. George's place is beautiful and charming. The rooms are tastefully furnished and all you need is there for you to have a comfortable stay. Dmitri the care taker greeted us and showed us around. He took us to village square to get a bite to eat as we got there pretty late. Charming village, lovely people and an authentic experience. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit Greece. I urge anyone who plans to travel to Greece to include Pelion region in their plans.

  • Very beautiful mansion house in a lovely village. Friendly staff and owner. Pelion peninsula is an amazing area, pegastic gulf on one side very calm water and no wind, Agean on the other side a bit more wild and the beaches even more beautiful. I would recommend this trip to people looking for something more natural and unspoilt, but it is very important to rent a car as you need to drive minimum 20 minutes to get anywhere.

  • We're so glad we had a chance to stay in this magical place! Don't miss the Pelio region if you are traveling in Greece. It is quiet, cozy, beautiful and authentic. We fell in love with the small village in which this B&B is located. The food is wonderful, the views are stunning and there are olive covered hills dotted with peaceful villages as well as quiet beaches with crystal clear water.

The B&B is in a renovated mansion overflowing with countryside character. The rooms are each unique and filled with little charming surprises. In our room the shower was accessed through a kind of secret passageway. Despite being filled with historic artifacts and quirky layouts, the rooms are spotless and well-appointed.

Dina, the caretaker, does not speak fluent English, but this is more than compensated by her warmth and hospitality. We were able to communicate everything we needed to, and we felt a human connection.

George, our host, was very easy to communicate with, and even gave us a call once we were settled in the place to make sure we had everything we needed. We hope to stay here again next time we visit Greece.
