Great spot that is on the quiet side of Edinburgh. Awesome spot if you're trying to avoid the mayhem of the city!

My stay at Danielle's was amazing! Her place is decorated very nicely and was very clean and spacious. She was very easy to reach during the whole trip. I ended up locking myself out of her flat and she quickly found a way to get me a set of replacement keys and was very nice abo…

This was a huge disappointment for us as a flat. The area beside the flat is a construction site at this time and the noise unbearable if you need to return in the afternoon for a nap or enjoy sleeping past 8 am. Danielle did provide earplugs that helped a bit. This flat is for t…

Response from Danielle:
Vickie and her husband voiced dissatisfaction with my home in a rather upsetting way. There was very little communication regarding the listing and what it offered pre-arrival. Upon arrival I received a number of upsetting and rather aggressive messages, which I responded to as quickly as I could. Communication pre-arrival may have negated many of the perceived issues. My home may not have been the most appropriate place for Vickie and Bob to stay, unfortunately I am unable to make that judgement for guests with little communication. My listing is very explicit about where it is, which floor the flat is on, that there is no lift, no air conditioning, that the listing they booked does not include access to the lounge and that I am available for questions pre-arrival. Vickie and Bob could have opted for my alternative listing which includes the lounge, this has a different nightly rate. On street parking is available to the side of building, across the road and around the corner. The bed is a King and the communal stairwell is lit by lamps from around 8pm, the stairwell also benefits from natural daylight until around 1030pm in summer months. There is a retirement home under construction across the road at the minute and it operates Monday-Friday within legal construction times, any noise is limited to this time. Finally I did not indicate that breakfast or lunch items would be provided as it is not a Bed and Breakfast. There is some misunderstanding of Airbnb as a service and the flexibility it offers guests and hosts. There was tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left for guests and I have a full welcome pack and local guidebook attached to the listing. I was unable to offer any solutions to the issues Vickie raised, other than that I supplied a fan for their use (which has been left broken in my flat) during their stay. I am disappointed that my guests did not have as an enjoyable stay as I would have hoped for and I tried to help as much as I could with local recommendations etc. The issues they had resulted from a lack of understanding around what my listing offers. I do not feel that I could have done anything else to make their stay more comfortable or enjoyable.

We had a lovely time at Danielle's! Everything in the apartment was as described and it was an easy jaunt to downtown Edinburgh by bus.

We enjoyed a lovely stay here! Everything was exactly as specified and Danielle was freely available to answer any questions we had. A lovely place with lots of charm, and only a short bus ride away from the city center.
