My place is a very quiet and beautiful oasis. Coming back from the sightseeing or work in the city, you will feel completely refreshed. Everyone who comes to my place loves my apartment.
I know almost everything about New York City. I can give you lots of advises.
You can use everything in the apartment except the cabinets which are locked or tied and laundry machine in the bathroom. Laundry facility is in the basement of the building.
While I am away, the superintendent of the building who is a very nice friendly guy will take of your needs. He and his family are very good friends of mine.
My apartment is located in a very quiet upper middle class neighborhood. It's very safe. There are many small parks to look over beautiful Manhattan view along Kennedy Blvd East.
Very easy and beautiful views of Manhattan from the bus. I am writing the details which may sound complicated but actually it is very easy and comfortable bus ride to Manhattan. Many people in my neighborhood commute to NYC every day!
Our bus stop is 77th St. and Blvd East. Buses come every 3 minutes between 6 am to 9:30 am and every 8 minutes other hours.
When you take a NJ transit bus from our bus stop, 77th St. and Blvd. East, to NYC, you can pay in cash when you get on the bus. Single ride is $3.20. Be sure to have smaller than $20 bill. They will not accept larger than $20 bill. Also there are many small vans come to the bus stop. They are $3 to NYC and pay when you get off the bus.
NJ transit from the Port Authority in NYC (41st Street &8th Ave.), our bus gate is 212 located in the south wing second floor. Before you go to the gate, you must buy the ticket. You can buy 10 tickets for $27 or single ride of $3.20. At the ticket machine, choose the route # 128. You can use the tickets for any buses going out of gate 212. All the buses going out of gate 212 will come to our bus stop 77th Street and JFK Boulevard East. (we call it Blvd East because it is confusing with another street called JFK Boulevard)
Van (we call them amigo bus)there are many small vans go to/from NYC. Their destination to the city is around the Port Authority building. It’s $3 and pay when you get off.
After 10 pm from NYC, I recommend to take a van to come home. Because NJ transit changes the gate and it only runs every 45 min. Vans run when the bus becomes full which is pretty quick. Vans are waiting for the passengers at the North side (opposite side of Port Authority) of 42nd street between 8th Ave. and 9th Ave. (about in the middle). You will see someone collecting money in front of one of the vans. Ask him if he is going to Blvd East.
I was planning to move to New York and when starting to looking for a place, it was a nightmare.. Then someone told me about Airbnb and thanks God I found this place.
About the apartment and Elissa, she made the experience even better. From the first day, she started to send me a lot of information about the apartment, about the local area and about any question that I could have. Once there, the apartment was so nice, it was big, it was clean and it has all that you need. People in the building are very friendly and the area is very quite and safe. I used to sit down on the sofa at night and spending many time just looking at the amazing views of Manhattan.
Something very important is that Bus stop is just 2min walking and it gets you into manhattan in just 20-30min depends on traffic.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
