The Space

Very central, quiet, sunlit bedroom w/large window, queen-size bed, separate bathroom/w window, separate toilet, bath towels, bed linen, hair dryer. Free Wifi. Free morning newspaper in german included.

Fully equipped spacious kitchen all to yourself with cozy decorative sitting/breakfast area for 2. Recently changed to one large (expandable) table so the seating area works as a desk too. Italian espresso/coffee machine, toaster, juicer, refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, ironing board w/iron, plates, silverware, fancy wine and champagne glasses. 4 m2 balcony adj. to kitchen with garden table, 4 chairs, potted plants/ flowers. Wifi works out on the terrace as well.

Washing machine and dryer in the basement can be used at minimal surcharge.

If you do not need any of these amenities and are gone most of the day due to business, etc. please let me know. I will make you a special price deal.

There is a shady picknick/bbq area outside for all tenants to share, you are most welcome to use it at your leisure. There is a small playground area for toddlers in the courtyard. If you do come with a small child please bring your own travel bed.

Smoking only on the outside terrace.

There is an open shelf area for clothes in the bedroom and plenty of hangers in the hallway.

Guest Access

Public parking in the neighbourhood is costly (or tricky) and renting a car is not recommended. Save your money and just use the trams. 5 min. walk to a beautiful inner city park.

Interaction with Guests

I usually meet my guests at Goldbrunnenplatz in front of Café Uetli as they step off the tram and then chaperone them to the apartment.

The Neighborhood

Health food bakers and coffee shop right around the corner next to Turkish Kebab late night stop. Quick 50meter walking distance to next tram (2)/bus(6)stop and local grocery stores Coop and Migros, pharmacy, pubs, take-away.

Getting around

Excellent! 30 min. easy direct transit train/tram to/from Zürich airport. Quick 50meter walking distance to next tram (2)/bus(6)stop. Only 12 min. public transport to main central station, 15 min. to lakeside park and boats, 1 hr. to mountains.

Other Things to Note

This apartment is a perfect base for exploring Zurich's old town, taking a boat ride along the lakeside and visiting nearby "Top of Zurich" Uetliberg mountain practically from your doorstep. Enjoy a hot drink and a sausage from the BBQ and take in the fantastic view all the way to the snow peaked Alps. Visit other sites in Switzerland within easy access by train, the main train station is only 12 min. away. For more info check (website hidden).

  • Stephanie is simply the best host we have had when renting an apartment. The space is charming, with everything you could possibly need in a rental unit. fully equiped kitchen, fridge, freezer, stove and even a dish washer. Comfortable eating area, and my favorate, a balcony overlooking a green space outback, giving the feeling of a small neighbourhood The location is great, restaurants, shops (great bakery just around the corner) and grocery store a 5 minute walk away. Easy access to the tram takes you to the main train station in Zurich in 15 short minutes. Its idiot proof. Lots of local information left for us to use and suggestions on what to see and do were greatly appreciated.
No question, if we are priviledged to return to Zurich we will definitely be calling Stephanie.

  • Stephanie was a great host. Very friendly, answered questions immediately. Lived very close by so if I needed something she was able to come over right away. The apartment was very cute and homie with a great balcony.

  • We stayed here for over two weeks in Sept. 2013. It was a very
pleasant experience. This first-floor apartment is very peaceful and
we were happy to call it our Zurich home. It has a very practical
location too: close to a tram/bus stop with good connections to the main Zurich locations. A Coop supermarket is nearby as are numerous eateries and a pharmacy.

The bed is big and comfortable. Even though the large bedroom window opens on a side road below, it was very quiet; there is almost no traffic on that road. The WC and the bath are separate so can be used simultaneously. The kitchen is well-equipped (though it lacks a microwave -- the Swiss aren't really fond of the microwave!). We used the shared washing machine and dryer in the basement of the building and had no problems doing so.

Some longer-term visitors may find that there is a lack of storage
space in the apartment but we quickly adjusted. On our next visit
here, if we stay for several days again, we will request Stephanie to empty a few cupboards for us to use.

As other reviewers have noted, Stephanie is a wonderful host. In our interactions and conversations with her, we found her to be
responsive and a truly open-hearted person, very "sympa" as the
French would say. She even lent us her bicycle for the few days she was out of Zurich.

All-in-all: an excellent value for money, highly recommended.

  • This was our first time staying with Airbnb, We chose to stay at Stephanie's apartment in Zurich go get a good connectivity to nearby cities and we are glad we did. The apartment is well connected, within walking distance of the Tram which connects you to HB and Lake Zurich. The house looks exactly like the pictures and very cozy. The linen was fresh and apartment clean. Stephanie was very warm and helpful in sharing ideas about where to go and things to do. We would choose the apartment again during our next visit to Zurich.

Nochmals vielen Dank!
