The Cottage is really nice, very clean and in the middle of nature. I love it ! Volcano Village is very small, all the necessary shops or gas station or restaurants are located on the Old Volcano Rd. The Welcome book of the cottage provides a lot of information about the things to do around Volcano Village.
I read tips written in the welcome book about the Great Crack Trail and I did it !! Excellent adventure but you really need to have a Hiking GPS for this trail because it's so easy to get lost. I used mobile apps called (website hidden), very usefull in many cases when the right way is unreadable during the trail.
If you plan to come in Volcano NP, this is the "Cottage to be", very close to the park.
Leslie's place was impeccably clean and very cozy. As soon as we walked in we felt like we were at home. The location is about 6 to 10 minutes from the entrance to Volcano park. Very small town, not much going on in the area. There is a very good Thai restaurant open late and a general store with some essentials, kinda pricey though. Overall, great place.
The house was nice, extremely clean, the location was private but close to the Volcano National Park. We loved having a house to come back to after spending the day being active around the volcano. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for a great stay!

About the Host, Leslie
My father was in the military so growing up I moved often, having gone to six different schools.
After I graduated high school I myself moved to Hawaii, and have lived here 35yrs, so this is home. I worked mostly in the 5star resorts in either the tennis or boating industries, and the last 15 years have been in my 'career' of massage therapy. I think my growing up in different places/countries, employment in the hospitality industry, having designed and physically built a few homes, and now working in the healthcare... has all brought me to this enjoyed venture of providing something a bit more than expected for the visitor who has gone to so much expense and trouble to appreciate this island. I'm blessed with a husband who joins me in this effort and helps to make it possible.
