Surrounded by beautiful Sorrento Peninsula in a place secluded from the hustle and 10 minutes from the city center, my Villa has two guest rooms on one floor with a separate entrance from the rest of the house.
A Piano di Sorrento, in the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula, collected from the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, lies our bed and breakfast : "Il pozzo e il mare", a quiet bed and breakfast, housed in a converted eighteenth century villa, where you will find hospitality and cordiality. Piano di Sorrento is a natural terrace overlooking the sea offering a wide panorama from Vesuvius to Sorrento, passing, on a clear day, the islands of the Gulf. In an area rich in historical and natural resources, a few steps from the fishing village Marina di Cassano, conveniently located offers everything that can make unforgettable your holiday or weekend in Amalfi: - Within walking distance of the beaches of Marina di Cassano; - In the immediate vicinity you will also find bars, restaurants, shops, supermarket and much more ...! - Piano di Sorrento is well served by public transport, by sea or land, to spend your days in the most renowned of the Sorrento-Amalfi Coast: Capri, Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, Amalfi and Naples and the ancient Pompeii and Herculaneum; - If you love nature, from the sea to the mountains, you will find many services for excursions by boat or mountain, even for the more adventurous trekkers! After a day in the courtyard enclosed by thick walls of the villa, you can fully enjoy your relaxation, including air and brisk citrus scents, in an atmosphere of yesteryear.
Guests will have access to the common courtyard and the garden of the villa.
The fastest way to interact is definitely in person since I live in the villa, but my guests can communicate with me by phone, email, (website hidden), wathsapp or even via the dedicated app "Il pozzo e il mare" bed and breakfast.
The district Cassano is quiet, surrounded by greenery and close to the city center.
The neighborhood is well served by buses, the train station is 10 minutes away and the elevator municipal beach is 5 minutes away!
Around the villa (less than 5 minutes), there are several bars, restaurants, two supermarkets, a large car park and all that it can be useful!
Mario made us feel very welcome, my girlfriend and I stayed for a week visiting local sites with a 15 minute walk to the local train. Mario supplied a basic breakfast and responded to our needs promptly. Our stay felt like a home away from home, there was a small supermarket close by with a great delicatessen. We would definitely recommend staying at Il Posso.
Piano Dr Sorrento is a quiet village with its own restaurants and interesting sites.
The house itself is very nice, but keep in mind that the location is a bit far from the train station with heavy backpacks/luggage (and tight roadways of Piano di Sorrento can be a bit treacherous with the scooter traffic).
Since there are so many 'full day' trips around Sorrento, we got an early start on most of our 4 days there. Dont expect Mario to offer you breakfast in this case (even after he promised it would be 'no problem' one day to do so).
I would also bring your own toilet paper and towels, as those can be hard to come by as well at this B&B.
Overall, our stay was quite disappointing - but the sites and food we experienced in the area were just wonderful - and the local butcher/grocery store (where we had to purchase our own breakfast) was lovely
Simply great! I loved staying at Mario's place. He is the nicest guy, very helpful...the place itself is nice and clean, modern (has AC!), fridge in the rooms and it is in a fantastic location. It is close to the beach, stores, restaurants ...only few minutes on a train and you are in the busy Sorrento. By the way, so much better than staying in Sorrento! I strongly recommend staying here.....I had the best time!! :)
Thanks Mario! :)
Piano di Sorrento is a lovely little town. The B&B is in a VERY quiet part of town - make sure to ask/print a detailed map before you arrive otherwise you will have a bit of a hard time finding the place. If you want something more lively, this is not the place for you. About 20 minute walk to the train station and bit further for a bus. Sorrento 2 stops away on train.
Mario has two rooms available for guests, nice and big. Nice large shared bathroom. Each room has a bar fridge and aircon as well as fan. There is a kettle, but no coffee or tea.
There is a narrow street beneath the window, so no cars, but PLENTY of scooters. SO if you are a light sleeper, you wont be able to leave the windows open and will need earplugs as well.
Breakfast includes juice, cereal, fruit and some pastries, but no coffee.
Mario works, so is unavailable most of the time, but is happy for you to call him if you need assistance. Wi-fi signal was not super strong, but worked well on and off.
He has a lovely cat and small dog, but they are no bother and do not come into the rooms. Very friendly guy and he has some maps of the area for you.
Mario was a fantastic host, welcoming and always on hand to help with any of our questions. Sorrento is such an amazing place, the place was perfectly located. The room itself was very large, cosy, functional and nicely decorated. Exactly what we wanted, a perfect place to retreat after a full day of activity. Thank you so much for having Reuben and I there, we will definitely come again and recommend you to others.
Room was clean and well equipped. Location 5 minutes from Sorrento by train. Marco is very professional host and discrete- we had misunderstanding that was handled very proffessionally and undesrtanding attitude. Breakfast was also great. I can warmly recommend Mario as a host.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. FIVE STARS. mario is awesome. of hosts i've had, mario one of the kindest, flexible understanding (even when i missed the last SITA bus back from positano, got stuck there, and thus missed my supposed 8am checkout the next day) . my time is sorrento was so terrific i kept wanting to extend my stay and mario kept saying "no problem". he brought up the most AMAZING breakfast selections every day. WAY better than any typical continental i have ever seen. the home is mediterranean style, lovely and the rooms are situated above the house so you have MAJOR privacy--granted the next room over was vacant, but it was super quiet nonetheless. cathedral ceilings, lovely balconade windows with double shutters (for sleeping in if you like), sea view from right outside the room, beautiful tile floors and a super cute tile bathroom (only thing is if there were several people you might run out of hot water unless it was turned down for the winter). ample heating and ac in the room. overall very spacious and comfortable. 15 minute walk slight downhill (though mario graciously offered to retrieve me) from the piano train station (circumvesuviana) and local (EAV) bus stops very near by. ONLY 5 MINUTE WALK to the seacliff. 2 towns over and 5 minute train ride from sorrento so you miss all the of the tourist trap congestion. SITA bus in centro to get to the amalfi coast and even solerno if you want to do the long tour versus the ferry or hydroboat. i would totally stay here again, i recommend for you to book and enjoy...
A HUGE THANKS to Mario and family for making our stay in Sorrento really special! My husband had contacted Mario before our arrival to arrange fresh roses in our room for our honeymoon. Not only did Mario arrange the flowers, he also had a bottle of lovely, chilled champagne waiting for us. The home is beautiful and immaculately clean. We both thought it was a really nice touch that the refrigerator in the room is stocked, much like a hotel room, with drinks for your convenience to purchase. Piano is just two stops before the touristy city center of Sorrento, which we really, really loved. The views of the water from Piano were spectacular and it only took us 5-10 minutes on the train to get into the city. Be sure to ask what time the last train leaves out of Sorrento going back, if you're night owls. You could also just take a cab as we did when we stayed out late, approximately $25E, which we thought was perfectly fine for a late night out. Absolutely loved our stay here!!! Remember, the bathroom is shared so be kind to your neighbor. Also, when we arrived we were greeted by Mario's gracious parents and his super sweet and very affectionate dog, Taboo, reminded of us of our dog we had to leave behind for our month of travels so that was a really nice welcoming to our home away from home. Thanks So Much to Mario and the whole gang!
A great place to stay! Much better than staying in Sorrento, and a few minutes away by train. The room is very large and spacious in the second floor, with a nice shared bathroom and a awesome garden. Mario was very welcoming, trying to make your stay the best way as possible. Totally recommend this place if you are going to the Amalfitan coast.
The location is less touristy than Sorrento so that was nice and we went to a great restaurant in the square cheap and authentic. However the directions and address provided were misleading which led to me taking a taxi from sorrento to piano de sorrento which cost 27 euro (it's only a ten minute drive). The best thing to do is take a coach directly from the airport to Piano de Sorrento (but ask when it stops as Sorrento is the last stop). Also the address on the map is correct but the address on the receipt is incorrect so my friend also got lost.
Mario was helpful and gave a blanket when requested and showed us directions on a map for a local beach. However breakfast was disappointing except for the nice grapes it only consisted of biscuits with jam and drinks.
The apartment is nice and as expected from photos.
I would stay again but expect to buy your own breakfast and hire a car!
