Lake Okareka is a freshwater lake close to the beautiful Blue & Green Lakes & Lake Tawarewa. Lake Okareka is great for swimming, fishing and boating.
Moira has a beautiful home in a picturesque location. The room is large, clean and comfortable with a nice private bathroom. Basically we had the entire upstairs to ourselves. Moira is very kind and gave local tips on places to go. She cooked us a delicious breakfast and made a dinner reservation for us (very sweet of her and great restaurant). We wished we had time to borrow her kayaks and bikes. My husband took a dip in the lake and enjoyed it.
As avid airbnb'ers, we highly recommend Moira. It is worth the short drive to her place to stay out of the touristy town of Rotorua. And her cats are really cute.
Nice room with private toilet and shower. We were allowed to use Moira's kayaks to sail on the lake. The house is beautiful, and Moira was a good host. We got a delicious breakfast before we went on, and she gave us plenty of time to get going. We got good ideas for the area, and was especially fond of her advice about a Natural hot springs.
We can very warmly recommended to stay with Moira
Moira was a wonderful host and her cats were awesome. I would highly recommend
We had 3 wonderful days at Moira's home. The house is located in front of a beautiful lake and it is just a 10 minutes drive to Rotorua. There is a bathroom ensuited to the bedroom and they were really tidy. The bed was super comfy!!
We found with Moira a great host. We enjoyed the conversation with Moira and we had a delicious breakfast each morning.
One night she recommended a restaurant in Rotorua (Leonardo's) and helped us to book a table there.
The other night Moira invited us for dinner which was very delicious.
She also offered to use their kayaks which was great fun!
We also enjoyed her lovely cats.
Thanks for everything.
We had a great stay with Moira and just sad that we didn't stay longer. The house is in a lovely location by the lake, We had the best sleep of our holiday (the bed was v comfortable!) and Moira made us awesome breakfast in the morning. Loved meeting the cats too.
Lovely lakeside house with a beautiful garden in gorgeous surroundings well away from all the tourists in rotorua. Spacious and neat room. Moira is a great host. Recommended!
The property and location are absolutely stunning. Moira was very helpful and even helped us plan a trip to the local "wild" hotsprings which we greatly enjoyed. Need I say it again.... great cook.
We had a lovely cosy stay with Moira at her beautiful lakeside home. The bed was extremely comfy, breakfast was delicious and the kayaks on the lake were a real bonus. We fully recommend Moira as a host.
Moira was the most lovely of hosts. She is funny and smart and a great conversationalist. We felt so welcome and it felt like we were at home. The meals were excellent and we had no reason to venture out! The room was very comfortable and private. The location is ideal...so close to the picturesque lake. We would not stay anywhere else if we ventured back to Rotorua. Thank you Moira for your gracious hospitality.. Shirley and Peter
A beautiful home and a wonderful location on the lake. Moira was a very thoughtful host, providing lots of little extras for our stay with her. Very interesting to talk with. Enjoyed the kayaking, the walk to the lake and the boardwalk with black swans swimming on the lake nearby. Moira fixed a wonderful breakfast and we also enjoyed a wonderful home cooked dinner and wine with her one night. Another night she suggested a restaurant (Sabroso-South American/Mexican food) in town that was wonderful. We would recommend staying here. Moira's place is a great secluded location away from town, but still near enough to drive to town for dinner. Beautiful grounds and gardens around the house. If you like hot springs ask Moira for directions to her recommended hot spring. We visited Waiotapu while staying at Moira's and would also recommend this, afterwards we stopped at the hot & cold stream and sat in it for about one hour, just around the corner from the visitor center.
