  • We spent 4 very comfortable nights at the B&B. It's brilliantly located and very cosy. Tommaso and his staff are really friendly and helpful. They picked us up and dropped us off at the station, helped us by tickets and made sure we had the correct platform.
Monopoli is a charming town with wonderful restaurants. Warm people.
Our one concern was there was no washing machine in the B&B. For longer staying guest this might be an issue.

  • Very enjoyable stay at "Casa Grecale" (September 2013)! The place is very charming, beautiful original stone walls, just like in the pictures. Giuseppe and his wife Anna were very helpful and friendly. A very nice touch to be greeted with a bottle of local wine on arrival. We enjoyed drinking it sitting at the little table just outside our door in that cute courtyard.
Monopoli is also a very lovely and charming town. But be prepared - locals won't go to bed until after 1am so if you are an early sleeper, that might be a bit too noisy for you. It wasn't an issue for us though.

  • Exactly as pictured & really nice. Loved it! Word of warning, there are mosquitos there so take Off & buy a citronella pot once you get there.
Take the train to visit Ostuni & Lecce, bus to Alberobello & Castellana . Monopoli is a small enough city to easily navigate after getting oriented. The Tuesday open air market was HUGE (ends @ noon.)
Alfredo, Giuseppe & his wife Anna (from England) were super nice & always helpful. Giuseppe & Alfredo picked us up from the train station when we got in @ 8PM & took us to the Marozzi bus stop @ 11PM (Tommaso & Alfredo) to take the overnight bus to Rome.
email Anna at: (email hidden) for any information you might like in advance of your visit.
I've been to the typical places (Rome, Florence, Venice) but enjoyed the Puglia region & Monopoli the most. Get off the beaten tourist path & experience the real Italy :-)

  • An awesome little studio apartment built entirely out of stone in the historic centre of Monopoli. You're 2 minutes from Piazza Garibaldi - which is great for aperitivo etc, and 2 minutes from the nearest beach.

The flat is beautifully decorated, maintained and equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay. Tomasso and co were very helpful when we needed guidance and even came to pick us up from the train station so as to save us the cost of hailing a taxi.

  • Very nice flat, central location, helpful staff. Would recommend.

  • The place looks exactly as in the photos. It’s a rather small apartment, but full of rustic charm. The apartment is located in the beautiful historic centre of Monopoli, but the house itself is in a secluded area, so it’s nice and quiet, which makes the location perfect. There’s a minimarket nearby, some bars, and a very nice restaurant. The beach is also pretty close (hence the high humidity in the air, which is the only problem really). The apartment is ideal for two persons; having said that, there were four of us there, and yet we enjoyed our stay. Overall, a great experience.
