Interaction with Guests
I am available for questions and tips re tour information to the monarca butterfly reserves and to local indigenous artisan workshops; restaurant advice and walking tours for Morelia's tourist sights.
Casona Rosa is in the heart of the Colonia Centro, the Historical Neighborhood, of this beautiful Colonial UNESCO World Heritage City. We are on Galeana Ave, THE residential street in the center 'El Centro' Morelia. EASY walking distance to ALL the tourist sights of this lovely colonial city.
We are close to everything, yet the rooms are tucked away, so
Casona Rosa is a quiet, private, safe and convenient place to stay.
Casona Rosa is in the heart of Morelia, just 2-1/2 blocks from the main street Calle Madero, and walking distance from la Cathedral, the Aqueduct and the Tarascan Fountain....plus shops, cafés, restaurants, bars, museums, galleries and much more. Morelia has a great zoo.
The icing on our "pastel" - our taxi drivers and tour guides, Jesus and Geraldo, are the best around and our guests rave about their services.
Other Things to Note
Great care was taken to create a warm and inviting environment at Casona Rosa with lush towels, premium bed linens, a fully equipped kitchen (if you want to cook an at home meal), as well as colorful local handcrafts, some for sale~~~plus all the comforts of home.
Many of our guests say we are "home away from home"....and that whenever they need something we always have it on hand. We like that!
We have 2 outdoor courtyards with plenty of sitting room for sun and shade; a hammock; a dining room; a living room with library, plus a Community Room for lounging, reading, tv, phones and computer set up.
Mi casa su casa....
Enjoy yourself immensely!
Viva la Vida!
I am a woman who fell in love with Mexico 10 years ago, found a place here in Morelia, and took it on the spot. Ever since then I've been reveling in the joys of Mexico, and I love sharing my experience of Mexico with others.
I think we have the best of Mexico right here in what they call
"the soul of Mexico"...the central highlands area. Morelia
is a fantastic colonial city, the most like Spain of any of the
colonial cities. The Centro Historico is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We are about 40 minutes away from the Lake Pátzcuaro area with all the indigenous villages that specialize in arts and crafts that have been carried on from generation to generation for hundreds of years.
Art, culture, history, heritage, food, flavors, weather, wonderful people.....we have it all here! Mi casa es su casa!
