This sunny apartment is located on the top (3rd) floor of a beautiful Victorian House right on the park in the Armory on the Westside of Providence. Martina has a beautiful apartment, it looks even better than the pictures. It's incredibly clean and spacious. Martina is super organized and can suggest many good restaurants, coffee places nearby plus you can walk to the italianrestaurants on Atwells in 20 mins. its about 30ish min walk downtown from her place. We would stay there again for sure.
It was a pleasure for me and my girlfriend to stay with Martina in her beautiful Victorian home. Her apartment was impeccably clean, decorated and filled with interesting art pieces. She was great at allowing for privacy while still being there to hand out suggestions on the best places to grab brunch or dinner.
The area she lives in is somewhat "transitional" but what it lacks in picturesque it makes up for by being the section of Providence that all the locals seem to think has the hippest bars, restaurants and coffee shops (and I tend to agree being a Brooklynite). It is also a very reasonable walk to downtown and a really cheap taxi ride to the more historic east Providence section.
Will definitely try and stay there again if we come back to Providence!
Martina's b&b provided a great place for me to stay while apartment hunting in Providence. The historic building was modern and well designed. Martina also recommended some nice restaurants in the area, and offered helpful advice on the city and its neighborhoods.
Martina's apartment was spacious, aesthetically pleasing, and provided all the necessities for a weekend stay. The neighborhood is pretty cool and I enjoyed hearing the kids play and the observing the dogs walking through the park at various times. It's a quick trip to just about anywhere in Providence. My boyfriend and I brought our bicycles and had no trouble getting around from Martina's place. Highly recommended.
I was in Providence to search for a place to live. Martina was a great resource on which neighborhoods to look at and was very well versed in local restaurants and happenings around town. She has a lovely book/ print collection to browse and a beautiful roof top deck to relax. Great location!
What a wonderful place. A spacious apartment with an amazing outdoor deck space that overlooks the park and sits among the rooftops. The place was very clean, well decorated, and had a great feel. I was only there for the evening but I wish I had been able to take more time there. The neighborhood is up-and-coming apparently with still a ways to go, but it's only a 5 minute bus or taxi ride to downtown Providence. I also never had the chance to actually speak with Martina about the local neighborhood but in a list she put together, there seemed to be some great places to eat and drink.
A friend and I spent Saturday and Sunday nights at Martina's beautiful and large apartment. I slept on a queen-sized bed in the guest room, while my friend slept on a twin-sized bed in the home office. Both rooms were spacious and clean. We all shared a bathroom and shower which, again, were decently sized and quite clean. We did not have much contact with Martina largely because we spent our days exploring Providence; however, she was always kind and professional. I sensed that Martina, like me, is not a fan of air-conditioning, preferring open windows and fans. That was fine by me, though my friend found his room a bit sweltering during the day as a result. In all, I cannot have hoped for a better experience. I highly recommend Martina's rooms!
Martina's apartment is comfortable, tidy, cleverly designed, and welcoming, and the artwork featured all around it (large and small) is a feast for the eyes. My one-night stay wasn't as long as I would have liked -- it would have been nice to make use of the spacious kitchen -- but if you're visiting when the weather's conducive to spending time outside, the deck is mighty pleasant place to sit. And of course, Martina is a terrific host...amiable and very easy to chat with. The fairly centrally located neighborhood is prone to the occasional loud car stereo passing by, but you should probably expect that in any city. Also, get ready to climb a couple flights of stairs up to the flat. Overall, a very recommendable experience!
Martina was able to let me stay on such short notice. I was in a pinch and didn't know where I would spend the night. Fortunately, she replied within a couple of hours. Painless. Comfortable. Welcoming!
Martina's home was a very nice place to stay: clean and modern decor, great location within walking distance to several nice restaurants on Broadway, one of the main drags of the Armory neighborhood. My wife and I were passing through for just one night, but we felt very comfortable in our surroundings. We had a nice evening dining out, having after-dinner drinks, while our car remained parked in Martina's garage. I'd definitely return.
