Alfredos place was perfect for us! Peaceful, relaxing, fantastic view. A bit out of town but close to a supermarket and great butcher. We self catered pretty much to whole time but there are some nice restaurants around too. The space was clean, comfortable, everything you need. Including super fast internet! We had a scooter which Alfredo sorted for us on arrival. Would be tricky without one I think. Alfredo was great at communicating for our arrival/ departure.
A truly beautiful place. We will hopefully stay again one day.
The appartment is charming and everything works well. It is a really privileged location (must have a scooter) and has a marvelous view, we spend great and relanxing time. I regret not having been able to stay more. Alfredo was very kind and helpful, he came to the port to pick us up. Grazie Alfredo !
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had an extra person for the first two nights. We told Alfredo and he never mentioned he had a problem. However from the start, although he did pick us up from the port, he seemed extremely dry and quite rude. Even beforehand on airbnb he barely communicated. This was surprising as it was not what we expected from reviews. The house was as described and very clean, and the view was amazing. The walk down is incredibly difficult in the hot sun however and is more than 25 minutes. The closest beach is even further away. Scooter hire in August is very expensive. The cheapest we found (without help from Alfredo) was €35 a day. We were polite and respectful to he and his house. During one of the nights the frame leg on the foldout mattress collapsed under proper usage. We told Alfredo, however, at the end of the stay he tried to request €200 from us. Overall it was a nice stay, but it left a very bad taste in our mouths. I am sure usually he is great as reviews say, but from personal experience I would not recommend.
I came with my partner for a 10 day holiday to Lipari and stayed in Alfredo's cottage. It was an amazing apartment with high ceilings and walls that were about 1 metre thick. We came in December so it was a bit chilly in the evenings at this time of year but the apartment had adequate heating facilities. The shower was very high-tech with the option of overhead water, side jets or hand-held shower. There was also even a hair dryer in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. In the kitchen (among other appliances) Alfredo has a toaster with an English plug and an additional row of English electrical sockets - a lifesaver if you are coming from the UK and forgot to bring your international multiplug! There is an orange and lemon tree in the garden and Alfredo told us to help ourselves to the fruit ... so we did! Alfredo was very nice - picked us up at the harbour and even made a stop at a supermarket for us on the way to the cottage. He speaks English and gave us lots of useful advice about the islands.
Alfredos house was great! It is up on the mountain with a reallly stunning view (you even can see mount etna)! You can just sit up there and nearly cry when its getting dark and you look at all the lights blinking at the coast of sicily. The house is newly and very tasteful renovated. You probably will need an scooter, you can rent for 15 euro a day, or - like i did - can get a little discount: i rented one 5 days for 60 euro. Thats really cool too to get around on this beautiful island. One thing, i didnt understand was, that Alfredo doesnt provide towels, so you have to bring your own. Second minus is the cleaning fee of 50 euro, a little too much, i think. But Alfredo is the perfect host and a supercool guy. He picked me up from the ferry and even drove me back there on my last day. I really miss the island, it was extremely stunning there.
Fantastic view and super cosy terrasse. I recommend to rent scooters, it's quite a long walk to the city, and it's a really good way to get around at the island. It was easy to get in contact and make appointments with Alfredo. I recommend this place to my friends!
