“I am a very light sleeper. Even the smallest noises wake me at night. When we moved here (we live on the property), it only took me one night of no sleep to get used to the train noise. For light sleeper guests who choose to book anyway, expect at least one night of poor sleep getting used to the noise.”

“I am not a light sleeper at all. The train noise and traffic noise don’t bother me. There isn’t a lot of outside light that the curtains and blinds can’t block out, so I didn’t have trouble falling or staying asleep. If you’re used to city living, you’ll feel right at home with the noises as you fall asleep.”

Lake Michigan is only about an hour away, depending on the beach you choose. Scenic sunsets, local brew pubs, and lakeside music venues are close enough to enjoy without the exorbitant price tag.

South Bend International Airport is only about 45 minutes away. Chicago is about a 2-hr drive. Indianapolis is about 2.5 hrs.

The immediate neighborhood is small, with only a few houses tucked behind retail, restaurant, and service businesses (salon, physical therapy, doctor, dentist, etc.).

No sidewalk, but large back yard for kids to play. Apartment is not child-proofed, although the space could work for a small fmaily. There would be room for a pack and play, and the small love seat could sleep a toddler (recommend safety measures so children don’t fall off while sleeping). TV is not mounted on the wall; please be cautious if you are bringing children, as they could pull the TV down.
