This is a lovely, sunny, well-equipped, semi-quiet apartment in Park Slope available most days of the year. Includes dishwasher, laundry, wifi, cable tv, coffee maker, microwave, 100% cotton fresh towels and bed linens. All you need is a change of clothes, toiletries, and personal items. The bedrooms are not totally private: there is a divider wall, but no doors (although there are pocket doors that divide the two bedrooms from the rest of the apartment). There is a queen bed in one bedroom, a twin in the other, and a twin/daybed in the common room (which cannot be considered a private space at all).
In 2009 I moved with my family to a rural area north of the city, and when I am not visiting or working in Brooklyn I rent out my apartment. I've kept it furnished and equipped so that you have what you need for comfort and to live like a local. The apartment is located in charming, historical, and sometimes gritty Park Slope, what many people consider to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of New York City, on 9th Street between 4th & 5th Avenue. In 2010 it was ranked #1 in New York by New York Magazine citing its quality schools, dining, nightlife, shopping, access to public transit, green space, quality housing, safety, and creative capital. It was named one of the "Greatest Neighborhoods in America" by the American Planning Association in 2007, "for its architectural and historical features and its diverse mix of residents and businesses, all of which are supported and preserved by its active and involved citizenry". In December 2006, Natural Home magazine named Park Slope one of America's ten best neighborhoods based on criteria including parks, green spaces and neighborhood gathering spaces; farmer’s markets and community gardens; public transportation and locally owned businesses; and environmental and social policy.
The apartment is 1/2 block from the M, R, and F trains, which bring you to lower Manhattan within 20 minutes, and central Manhattan in about 45 minutes. Walk up 9th Street 4-1/2 blocks and you’re in the 585-acre Prospect Park (Brooklyn's equivalent of Central Park), the huge Harmony Playground, and the renowned Bandshell for live, free performances all summer. Within one block of the apartment is a large well-stocked grocery store, several pharmacies and banks, and the post office. Continue down 5th Avenue and you’ll find dozens of highly regarded restaurants (like the famous Al Di La reviewed in the New York Times) as well as tons of ethnic places (Mexican, Indian, Moroccan, Thai, etc), boutiques, coffee shops (Martin's, Gorilla Coffee), patisseries (Blue Sky Bakery, Colson Patisserie), and bars. Up on 7th Avenue, you’ll find more of the same, plus larger stores like Barnes and Noble and Starbucks. This is truly a great location from which to access most of New York City's landmarks, features, and fun. Also, it borders Park Slope's historic, landmarked neighborhood, which provides charming local walks and explorations.

My parents and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at sandye's apartment. It looks just like it does in the pictures. The apartment was very clean and cozy. It's very close to manhattan and the neighborhood is very nice. Sandye was very responsive and was just a phone call away. We had a great time. Would definitely love to stay here again.
The apartment indeed has all that you might need - its very well equipped !! Its in a good area, lots of places to eat around there, really close to subway! Overall we had a great time!
It was great staying at Sandye's..The apartment was well-equipped, particularly the kitchen. Super comfortable all around. Fabulous location. Thanks!
What an amazing space in the heart of brooklyn. Sure there is some noise but thats because you are steps away from everything!! Great to have an internal laundry, downside is dragging luggage up to fourth floor. We really appreciated the small things like having half a loaf of bread and some butter in the fridge and also some milk, tea and sugar. It was blizzarding while we were here and Sandye was very accommodating when we were in quite late. Thanks for a great stay...Oh and did I mention this place has the best shower ever and we travelled all over the US for five weeks. Very close to the subway and lots and lots of fabbo eateries. Linen was fresh and central heating was on to greet our weary bones. It was a tab squishy for our family of five, but we managed!!
A quaint, somewhat open floor plan apartment, was clean and comfortable. It's a fantastic location for catching the Metro into Manhattan. Sandy was very responsive and returned questions quickly within the whole pre booking process. The special January rate posted is a great value. Found a fantastic small Italian gourmet restaurant just a block and half away, Bar Tano. Lots available within walking distance, nice to stock up the fridge with a few essentials, and super easy to get into Manhattan as mentioned.
Sandye and the apartment were great. I stayed with three friends and it was just perfect. Everything worked out really well. We had an awesome time in New York and in the apartment. I totally recommend the apartment.
Such a fantastic place. Definitely recommend. So warm and inviting. Clean and airy. Sandye is wonderful very responsive and considerate. Do note that it is a walk up.
This was our first Airbnb experience and we found it to be a wonderful one! Sandye was a delight to deal with, she was very conscientious about responding quickly to emails, and every pre-planned detail was exactly as she had said it would be. We never actually met, but I always felt as though Sandye was behind the scenes, a bit like the Wizard of Oz, making everything work smoothly. Thank you, Sandye!! The apartment was cozy and comfortable and a great place to call home for a few days. Sandye had told us about Daisy's Diner and it was a great neighborhood place to eat and to experience the local flavor (no pun intended!). We left New York feeling as though we'd had a really special experience.
A very clean, comfortable, bright, and well outfitted apartment. We were happy with it the moment we walked in. Those unaccustomed to city noise might object to the early truck traffic, but it certainly wouldn't be enough to put us off in the future.
A lovely clean, comfortable apartment in a great location. The kitchen is well-organized and has everything anyone could need or want. Sandye's communications were timely and informative. The next time we come to NY, we'll check on the availability of this apartment before we look anywhere else.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
