This is a lovely, sunny, well-equipped, semi-quiet apartment in Park Slope available most days of the year. Includes dishwasher, laundry, wifi, cable tv, coffee maker, microwave, 100% cotton fresh towels and bed linens. All you need is a change of clothes, toiletries, and personal items. The bedrooms are not totally private: there is a divider wall, but no doors (although there are pocket doors that divide the two bedrooms from the rest of the apartment). There is a queen bed in one bedroom, a twin in the other, and a twin/daybed in the common room (which cannot be considered a private space at all).
In 2009 I moved with my family to a rural area north of the city, and when I am not visiting or working in Brooklyn I rent out my apartment. I've kept it furnished and equipped so that you have what you need for comfort and to live like a local. The apartment is located in charming, historical, and sometimes gritty Park Slope, what many people consider to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in all of New York City, on 9th Street between 4th & 5th Avenue. In 2010 it was ranked #1 in New York by New York Magazine citing its quality schools, dining, nightlife, shopping, access to public transit, green space, quality housing, safety, and creative capital. It was named one of the "Greatest Neighborhoods in America" by the American Planning Association in 2007, "for its architectural and historical features and its diverse mix of residents and businesses, all of which are supported and preserved by its active and involved citizenry". In December 2006, Natural Home magazine named Park Slope one of America's ten best neighborhoods based on criteria including parks, green spaces and neighborhood gathering spaces; farmer’s markets and community gardens; public transportation and locally owned businesses; and environmental and social policy.
The apartment is 1/2 block from the M, R, and F trains, which bring you to lower Manhattan within 20 minutes, and central Manhattan in about 45 minutes. Walk up 9th Street 4-1/2 blocks and you’re in the 585-acre Prospect Park (Brooklyn's equivalent of Central Park), the huge Harmony Playground, and the renowned Bandshell for live, free performances all summer. Within one block of the apartment is a large well-stocked grocery store, several pharmacies and banks, and the post office. Continue down 5th Avenue and you’ll find dozens of highly regarded restaurants (like the famous Al Di La reviewed in the New York Times) as well as tons of ethnic places (Mexican, Indian, Moroccan, Thai, etc), boutiques, coffee shops (Martin's, Gorilla Coffee), patisseries (Blue Sky Bakery, Colson Patisserie), and bars. Up on 7th Avenue, you’ll find more of the same, plus larger stores like Barnes and Noble and Starbucks. This is truly a great location from which to access most of New York City's landmarks, features, and fun. Also, it borders Park Slope's historic, landmarked neighborhood, which provides charming local walks and explorations.

Sandye was very helpful from the moment I got in touch with her. We were arriving late from the UK and Sandye was very accommodating and ensured we were able to collect the keys.
Sandye sent through a long list of excellent places to eat and things to do within walking distance - we ate at four of the suggestions and they were brilliant! We really enjoyed exploring Brooklyn and the location was perfect for us.
The apartment was great, very clean and homely. As this was our first experience of Airbnb, We felt exremely comfortable and relaxed. Would thoroughly recommend staying here!
It was great staying at Sandye place. Her home was beautiful and clean. The location is close to subway. Would visit again
Super cute place. Just as described. Everything was smooth and easy. Our 4 year old loved all the kids books and toys!
Nice place, comfortable and very well located! We felt as if we were at home. Its location is particularly interesting, on the nearby of Subway stations. It turns everything easier, mainly if you´re a tourist in NY.
Sandye was gentle, she informed all demanded details and we had no disagreable surprises at all.
Nice neighborhood, beautiful home, helpful host. The location is prime for 5th Ave Park Slope, and it's a quick walk to the F on 7th Ave.
Sandye's emails were very detailed, full of helpful info. My email reading comprehension isn't always expert, but everything you need to know to find the spot is communicated
There's one thing I've not encountered at any other airbnb: A request to put the sheets & towels in the laundry before leaving. I don't think I would've even realized that it was requested, but I noticed it while reading one of the print outs posted inside.
The apartment is close to everything. Nice and warm. The kitchen had everything we needed from tea to ziplock bags. The wifi was fast and worked well throughout the house. Applewood is an amazing farm to table restaurant that is just a few blocks away. If you want to try some great local beer, Owl farm up the street is the best park slope has to offer. Getting into the city was quick and easy. Great space
The flat was very easy to find. Its in an excellent location for tube and Brooklyn's restaurants, gym, shops etc. The flat is not new. Its typical top floor brown brick Brooklyn flat so you expect some of the stairs to wobble and the wood to be battered a bit but everything works fine. It was warm, big well equipped, unexpectedly comfortable bed, loads of fresh fluffy towels, bedding in abundance, good wifi.
We were really comfortable, had a great time, no problems and would recommend it.

I sublet this apartment for my friend and her family who only use it part time, so the place is all yours! No pets, no smokers, no noise please- this is a quiet building used by a small group of family members and professionals, where everyone strives to be respectful of each other's space and tranquility.
