Really enjoyed our stay with Josie and Koos. The hut is charming and comfortably sized with a great porch and garden. Our host was extremely helpful and welcoming- organizing different day trips and activities in the area. The place is a little out of town ( ten min. Tricycle ride) and does not have air conditioning (they have a big fan- we were never hot) or hot water. Overall it was a great landing in Palawan!
Josie and Koos are incredible. My stay at Koosie's Pool was one of the highlights of my month long travels in the Philippines. They along with Maria (their housekeeper) were readily available to assist me with tour arrangements, meals, transportation (Rodelo their tricycle driver) or any questions that a traveler may have.
I was treated like I was a part of their extended family and was grateful for the evening talks about life in the Philippines and life in general, fantastic accommodations, super comfortable bed, refreshing cooling showers (you don't need hot water in the Philippines and if you do they will readily boil hot water to meet your needs), the meals; breakfast consisting of eggs (any style), sausage, and toast, the Green Chicken Curry with rice is a must have, great coffee, fresh seasonal fruit, a BBQ grill for your use if you choose to grill your own food, a clean swimming pool if you choose to cool off after a day in the sun, and an environment that was easily accessible to anywhere.
Staying at Koosie's Pool was so memorable that I hope to return and experience more of what Palawan Island has to offer and reconnect with Josie, Koos, Maria, and Rodelo.
Jodie, Koos and their attendant Marie made us feel so welcome at their beautiful traditional guesthouse.
The guesthouse is very comfortable, Jodie and Koos were kind enough to invite us to breakfast and the dinners they prepared for us were the best food we have had in the Philippines!
They helped organise our airport pickup, tours and transportation which made our stay so easy and memorable.
This place is a gem! If you are visiting Palawan do yourselves a favour and stay here! :)
We also loved hanging out with their friendly dog Clara.
Our hosts were very friendly and made sure our needs are taken care of. Maria was excellent in making our meals and her squid is a must try. We tried the massage service and it was fantastic. The native house is just beautiful and very clean. It was so nice waking up every morning and sipping coffee outside the house with the garden view. Once there you have to check out Almoneca cave just a short walking distance from the house.. Thank you Josie and Koos for the great experience.
Dear Josie&Koos, thank you very much for all you have done for us. For your hospitality amd kindness, for giving us a feeling like we're at home. For your help with logistics and giving tips of getting around and other small things we needed so. We felt like home.
I have had the best experience in Palawan, all thanks to Josie and Koos for their hospitality; the wonderful Ate Maria who took care of me (be it day or night); and Kuya Rodil who drove me to and from the airport and showed me around Puerto Princesa (rain or shine)!
The bed was very comfortable, the entire place incredibly tidy, and the experience of sleeping/waking-up to the sound of nature were all memorable!
I can't wait to be back!
Nous avons passe un agreable sejour, accueil chaleureux dans un tres joli cadre, loin de l'agitation de la ville.un tres bon souvenir.Nous vous souhaitons de belles fetes de fin d'annee. Amicalement, danielle et jacques.
We are a couple who enjoy living in the Philippines.
We love the nature and enjoy the simplicity of the life here. We support policies which support sustainable energy and preserve the nature as it is now.
Through solar panels we are generating now almost all our energy needs with a grid tied solar system .
Kind regards : Josie & Koos.
