Central 1bed apt near MRT & BTS

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Naret Road, Si Phraya, Bangkok, 10500, Thailand

The Space

Surawong City Resort is a new apartment building in the center of Bangkok. It has only 8 floors, with the swimming pool on top. There's a reception and security guards 24/7 and you'll need a key card to access the lift.

This apartment is on the 2nd floor, the same floor as the gym (you can use it anytime for free). When you enter the apartment, the kitchenette is on your right and bathroom on your left.

The kitchen is simple yet equipped so that you can cook and eat-in. Microwave, heating plates, boiler, rice cooker, toaster, etc... I tried to make it the most functional and convenient for someone coming for a few days weeks or even months.

As for the living room, it has a bench with cushions and table for dinning. TV set is also there, with cable (CNN, HBO, etc..).

The bedroom has a queen size bed and a closet.
And sofa bed in the living room.

The bathroom has a shower, and I provide shampoo, soap and towels.

If you need laundry, that can be arranged (price per piece or per month). There's a shop, next to the residence who can do this for you and deliverer cleaned laundry to your room.

I also offer an airport pickup for weekly/monthly stays. If you come for a few days but would like me to arrange an airport pickup, no problem - I'll do it for you at cost (700 baht, one way).

Any questions welcome :)

  • Gael's apartment was well situated within a 10 minute walk of all the action in Silom. The Skytrain was also within a reasonable walk from the apartment. It was nice to have a doorman and have access to the rooftop pool which has a really great view of Silom. To have access to a pool like that would require spending a great deal more money to stay at a luxury hotel in Bangkok. I stayed with 2 other friends and there was plenty of space for all 3 of us to sleep comfortably as I slept in the sofa bed in the living room. There is a 711 right across the street and lots of street vendors selling wonderful food right outside the apartment which was really convenient. Even though its so close to all the action, at night, it was very quiet and comfortable to sleep. Gael was really responsive when the door handle fell off of the bathroom door; he arranged to get it fixed within the same day. The only frustration we had was that the wifi signal from the 2 accounts that Gael provided were very weak and kept disappearing. There was no router in the room so I couldn't reset it. Upon contacting Gael, he quickly provided a 3rd account which worked much better. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in the Silom area, especially if you are traveling with 2 other people.

  • We stayed only for one night so we can't really tell anything about the location but it was good. The apartment is really new and the description reflects the reality.

  • We were in Bangkok in October, a great time of the year. Only had a few showers, so not too bad. The apartment has an amazing location in Silom. Not too far away from everything, the night market is within reasonable reach, the palace, Sukhumvit etc. plus Narret Road is very well known so all taxi drivers will be able to get you there without a problem.

Unfortunately I had to change my booking, with only 1 day notice, which to my surprise had no cancellation fee or what so ever. Thanks again Gael for your kind flexible terms.

The apartment has all you need, the comfort of a home and nothing to worry about. Plus it has a gym and swimming pool which I definitely used. I love a morning work out and afternoon swim. If you are looking for a cost effective solution, this is definitely it.

  • Everything during our stay was perfect and we had a great time in the appartment! Gael upgraded us to the bigger unit on the top floor, which had amazing views on Bangkok (thanks to the fact that it was located at the corner of the building - there are lots of windows). Also it was located at the same floor as the swimming pool. The area is calm for Bangkok, there are not many tourists, but it is really easy to catch a cab or to take the BTS/MRT to every desired place.

We did not meet Gael, but he always responded very quickly and offered help when needed. My wife caught a flu during our stay, so Gael offered help for finding a doctor and organizing everything to get her out of bed again.

Staying with Gael is highly reconmended!

  • Beware! NOT RECOMMEND host. Switched apt w/o notice, done that to other people also. Corridor smells of raw sewage b/c of the pool on the same floor and somehow this allows a gutter smell to get into the corridor. New apt not ready for move in - Had front door broken handle + lock (never fixed during stay). 1st day: waited 2 hr for host to set up the new apt after arrival. Wasted our vacation time. No second bed as shown (provided mattress on floor), no toiletries (provided upon request), no towels (provided upon request), dead worms and spider cob webs everywhere (cleaned upon request), ants in kitchenette, front door lock broken and owner told me she has no other option so leave door open (luckily found key for the small/unsafe secondary bolt), promised lock fix when we return. Called Host and his wife for 1/2 hr and nobody picks up provided phone when we return and find the lock not fixed.

2nd day: Shower drain is plugged. Waste 1.5 hrs trying to get drain fixed. Call owner again and does not pick up. Escalated to airbnb. Went myself and got plunger and partially pushed water while showering to complete shower. Then came back in afternoon and found maintenance guy to fix the drain (another 1hr wasted). In the meanwhile, owner finally emails to check why airbnb contacted him. Though, does nothing to help when we reply back.

3rd day: Promised lock will be fixed but again nothing. Given up on the owner and tired of wasting time. Vacation impacted and undue stress caused by the whole situation. This day, from 10pm to 3am, blaring music from a local bar behind the building. Felt like the people were talking, singing karaoke, and laughing right next to us in the sleeping area.

After ruining the vacation, the owner refunded us $20. Personally, the time wasted and frustration outweighed this gesture.

Cleaning is done every other day so please understand that towels will not change until day after. Secondly, never replenished any toiletries or toilet paper during the 4d stay.

    Nice things:
Apt location is not bad. Less than 5km from MBK and Platinum shopping area.
Wife was nice when we met. Just that they were very poor hosts and completely inaccessible after the 1st meeting. A lot of the issues would not have happened if they (owner / wife) had picked up the phone. I know the phone number was correct because I redialed on the last day with the original number and the wife picked up the phone.

  • We got a downgrade and had no choice but stay in a smaller apartment than booked. We had to wait in the lobby for a while until somebody arrived to give us the keys. The pool is great.

  • i have a good time there and the shopping centre and night market are near by. the host is very kind.

  • I had a wonderful stay in this apartment (3 weeks). It is just a 10 Minutes walk to the MRT through a residential area with lots of nice food and typical Chinese shophouses. Also the Silom area, which is full of restaurants and shops, is just a 10 Minutes walk away. The swimming pool on the rooftop offers a great opportunity to get some exercise and great sunset watching.

  • Great apartment, an oasis of perfection in a busy part of town. We arrived late so things could have gone smoother with the pick up, directions to the apartment and attaining the key, but really it was a minor bump. The rest of the stay was fantastic. Great place, clean, decent weight room, refreshing pool, great street food all around the building, and easy to explain to cabbies ('Bangrak Police Station').

If we ever need to stay in this area of Bangkok again I would book with Gael without hesitation. Thanks for a great experience!
