About This Listing
Located steps from Bonham Road and the University of Hong Kong, this is a favorite area for students and your travellers exploring the city. Lots of nice little off the path restaurants and very vibrant and exciting neighborhood.
A great offer for this fabulous location near mid levels.
This Open Studio offers a large comfy double bed, FREE Wifi, hair dryer, large LCD TV with entertainment DVD system. The building has an elevator direct to the apartment with just a few steps to the lobby area.
Located on Third Street in a laid back area and has rapidly become a hip area hosting many of the city's most creative types, it takes 5 minutes/$3 USD cab ride or 15 minutes by foot to Central. There is a 7-11 convenience store just across the street. The area is a melting pot of East meets West, with older chinese traditional buildings being surrounded by high end new luxurious developments with new restaurants, nice coffee shops, banking, shops popping up all the time.
Transport is very easy through the nearby tram, buses and minibuses. Of course, the taxis in Hong Kong are most convenient and very cheap compared to other big cities like New York and London.

The Sheung Wan neighbourhood is ever changing and a fantastic mix of "old' and "new" Hong Kong. This apartment is located in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, cultural and shopping districts and within short walking distance to the subway and HK Macau Ferry Pier. A few minutes walk away from the harbour front and the fantastic Sun Yat Sun Memorial Park and Public swimming pool over look the world famous Victoria Harbor.
Buses, Trams, Minibuses and taxis are near by on Bonham Rd or down on Des Voeux Road West, any of these conveniently take you through Central and all other parts of Hong Kong like Causewaybay, Wan Chai, the exhibition center and beyond.
Other Things to Note
Once you arrive in Hong Kong, everything is quite simple and all starts with a call from the FREE phones at the airport located in the hall immediately after you pass through baggage customs. There is also a Visitors Center there if you would like to pick up some maps, local travel guides, etc. to read on your way to the apartment. If you need a local SIM card, there is a 7-11 in the middle section of the main arrival hall where they see all types of SIM cards, I usually prefer the PCCW brand as it is the larges local operator.

I really enjoyed my stay at Jason's flat in Third (website hidden)'s a studio flat,so small, but there is more than enough space for one person. The flat was very clean, and came equipped with hair drier, vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, towels etc.The bed was very comfortable, and there is also a newly installed air con unit and fan to help keep you cool in the hot summer months.Jason made me feel very welcome indeed. He responded quickly to any messages I sent prior to the trip, and on the day of my arrival, his brother and mother helped settle me into the flat.I stayed for a long time-a month, and Jason contacted me half way through my trip to provide clean towels and bedding.Sai Ying Pun is a great area-bustling and full of life, and still quite traditional, although it is changing.More blocks of flats are being erected all the time. The flat is only a few minutes walk from the new MTR station, and from Sai Ying Pun it's only two stops to Central. You can walk from the flat to the surrounding areas of Sheung Wan and Soho. The pool next to the harbour, 10 min walk down Eastern St is well worth a (website hidden) costs only $17($19 if you go later in the day) for a swim in a lovely 50 metre pool with very clean changing (website hidden)'s nice to spend time in the surrounding park (Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park) too,as you can watch boats passing and people doing Tai Chi early in the morning.
This was my second time staying in Jason's place. Again, it was the best place to stay in Hong Kong for the price. It's in a great location and the room has everything one needs for a visit to Hong Kong.
Booked this place for my parents for 2 weeks and was very convenient from all aspects - lots of different cuisines around all times of the day. Also, buses / MTR / taxis were vary convenient. My parents liked living on 3rd street much better than lower down the hill as the environment was less busy. Jason was very helpful, friendly, and responsive with requests. Would recommend this place.
I stayed in Jason's apartment for about two weeks and enjoyed it very much. Pictures are pretty accurate and so are the previous comments.
What I liked best about the flat: its location. Supermarkets, restaurants, laundry and coffee shop basically right outside your door. You can start beautiful walks to the Peak and its surroundings from here and at the same time be in crazy busy Central in around 20 minutes.
Also, I appreciated the quiet nights - once I got used to the elevator, which kind of runs right next to your head.
All in all, good value for money (it's Hong Kong after all!), would come back!
Last time i visited HK, i used Agoda and reserved a hotel located in Mongkok. But since HK is small district, all the reasonable price hotel is small and has poor facilities. it is much better to reserve accommodation through AirBNB since it is private apartment and has better price/facilities.
this place is cozy, and comfortable, although the apartment itself is little old. i think it is much better than inn or hotel. the price is almost the same or lower, but this place has much better facilities and good location. Sai Ying Pun is out of downtown (Mongkok/Tsim Sha Tsui) so more quite, less dangerous.
supermarket and convenience store is nearby, and lots of restaurant is nearby too. Central station (nearby see, park and shopping mall) is 20min to walk. you dont need to take transportation to get to those kind of place. and it is easier to have experience of HK ppl's life style.
Since Sai Ying Pun MTR station is still under construction, you must use HKU station if you want to get to this place, 40min from the airport using A10 bus. And this apartment is around 10min working distance from the station.
Kitchen is small and has no gas stove, but one electrical.
it is able to cook simple meal such like beef or spaghetti, boiling food.
Jacob, the owner of this building is kind and generous, he introduces lots of places to visit and gives good instructions for trip.
i am satisfied with this apartment and its price, and made a happy memory here. i want to suggest this place if you want to feel HK itself.
Jason is very nice and helpful. The room is in great location but it's really small. Maybe that's the fact on Hong Kong island. It should be fine with single traveler.
I've stayed in many places in Hong Kong. Jason's place in Sai Ying Pun is by far the best. The place is perfect for one or two people in one of the best neighbourhoods in town. The kitchen is well stocked. There are plenty of windows that let in light. The bathroom is efficient. The bed is comfortable. And the internet is fast.
I can't say enough about this place, and will be staying here again on my next trip back to Hong Kong.

About the Host, Jason
I've enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world my entire life and absolutely love meeting locals at each place I visit to get first hand knowledge of the destination. I've made many friends across the globe and look forward to visiting them each time I'm back in the region. I've called Hong Kong my home for the past 30 years, this is absolutely a brilliant little place with so much local flavor and western influences in this Chinese city. I look forward to meeting lots of overseas friends and pointing out the many local favorites so every visitor has a chance to experience the best of this great city.

Good Thai Food at reasonable prices. A favorite place of mine to head to for a quick and nice sit down eatery.
