About this listing
A 4 bedroom home in a peaceful setting close to the beaches, Daytona and Orlando. 2 rooms are available. Room 2 is listed as "where nature comes to play 2 of 2". 1 fullsize bed per room.
the house is close to everything and surrounded by nature. kayaking, biking, secluded beaches, kennedy space center, indian river lagoon, kiteboarding, fishing......daytona, orlando within 35 miles.
charming breakfast of farm fresh fruit, eggs, cheese, quiche upon request and pending my availability. there are snacks, purified water, fruit, tea, coffee, juice and chocolates close at hand.
wifi, cable, one large tv in the living room, shared full kitchen, private rooms, shared living and dining room. screened porch on the back of the house. ceiling fans in guest rooms.
guestrooms share a large bathroom on one side of the house. the living room, dining room and large kitchen are shared by everyone. the guest rooms each have a fullsize platform bed, open closet, beautiful views of trees and sky. the old closets were torn out 4 years ago and replaced with custom carpentry for attractive storage.
the bedroom windows have mini-blinds. it is perfect if you like the view of the trees and sky. the windows are securely locked from the inside.
it is a really nice, but well weathered 1976 style ranch house. well worn but cute, orange wallpaper and avocado linoleum of the 70's in the kitchen. and the same era wallpaper in the hallways - kind of dated but clean. the guest rooms and living room are newly painted and the 4 year old carpets are cleaned every six months. the house is clean and fresh without heavy fragrance.
we are in the city on a 4.5 acre wooded lot close to a jogging trail, grocery, family-owned restaurants, ymca, schools. the house is very peaceful. bicycles available. plenty of parking room under the live oaks; the house and cars are always shaded. the shaded path to the house from the driveway is about 45 feet over pine needles and oak leaves. it is a little uneven but pleasant for most. it is dark at night so make sure the porch light is when you go out and call if you want me to meet you at the driveway.
the house is a split plan with my office and bedroom on the one side. the kitchen, dining room and living room are in the middle. the guestrooms on the other side.
my two dogs are restricted to my side of the house by lattice gates. we have had two guests so far with allergies to dogs - they had no problem here, probably due to the dogs being chemical free too!
guest dogs are only allowed in the kitchen and on the porches. not allowed in the guest rooms, living room.
pesticides and room fragrances are not used in the house. real cedar oil is used for occasional ants. the mattresses are sprayed lighlty with cedar oil between guests. the wood furniture is polished with the cedar oil too. this is the real oil from western red cedars in texas ((website hidden)). don't worry, the fragrance is very light and hardly noticable unless I used it the same day you arrive.
helicopter students from europe are frequent boarders. we have had students from 12 countries with very good success over the past 5 years.
the rate is per room for 1 fullsize bed. a futon can be rolled out on the bedroom carpet if more sleeping area is needed. no problem, just let me know.
check out space coast outdoors on the web for all titusville has to offer. the website ends (website hidden), (website hidden).
this is not a true bed and "breakfast"... however, can request breakfast and you will always find apples, kombucha tea, fresh greens, purified water, often spinach quiche, spaghetti or chili. i will let you know what is available. and there is plenty of room in the fridge and cabinets (you have your own kitchen cabinets with dishes) if you want to bring in groceries. please do not keep open food in the guest rooms - plenty of room to eat in the kitchen, dining area and back porch. enjoy!
please no outdoor shoes on the carpets. bring a pair of flipflops for the indoors if you like. no smoking.
I look forward to sharing my home with you!
kitchen, bath, dining, laundry, backyard, frontyard, living room, tv... keep the volume low on the tv in respect to another guest and me.
Interaction with Guests
wonderful wooded neighborhood, with a jogging trail
it is difficult to get around without a car here. unless you are a seasoned cyclist plan on having a car. or, please inquire as I am usually available for transportation to the wildlife refuge, space center, shopping and beaches if you are willing to compensate my time and fuel. pickup at Orlando airports is 25.00. dropoff and pickup at the local attractions is 50 cents per mile.
Be neat, be clean, wash your own dishes, and leave no mess behind. No smoking. Dogs allowed only in the kitchen and outdoors. No pets otherwise. Sometimes there may be a student here so this is not a house available for big parties. Small get togethers are fine. Peace and quiet is the norm. No outdoor shoes on the carpets. Please don't keep open food and drink in the guest room. There is plenty of cabinet and fridge space just for you.
Kathleen was quickly responsive to a last-minute request to spend the night and provided my husband with a quiet, comfortable room for his short stay.
Kathleen was wonderful! She was very knowledgable about the area, little things to do and see, and out of the way tidbits. With a baby, the room was very comfortable with enough space for 3 and her dogs were very respectful. The house has everything you would need for a stay for work or with a family.
Kathleen went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. She gave us some great ideas of how to see the area. There were snacks in the room. She made a wonderful quiche and gave us fresh fruit for breakfast. We ate breakfast in her screened in back porch overlooking a woodsy backyard. The room is spacious and the bed is very comfortable. When we left, she gave us apples and brownies for the road. We hope to stay with her again, hopefully for a longer stay.
I had a pleasant, relaxing and comfortable stay. Kathleen is a genuinely kind and caring person. She went way out of her way for her guests.
The room was clean and the bed very comfortable….the lush green view from both room windows was relaxing.
I will defiantly be back!
Kathleen was awesome! She was very welcoming, generous, and gave plenty of advice on activities in the area. The neighborhood and house was beautiful and safe. We were pleasantly surprised about how much there was to do in Titusville! The area is close to several beaches and Orlando. The dogs were well behaved and cute. We'll never stay in a hotel again after staying with Kathleen!
Kathleen was fantastic! Great communication, and her house is located in a very quiet area and very easy to find with GPS. She's a genuinely kind and caring person who's welcoming and quick to provided great dining tips and local information. The room, bed and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. Definitely look forward to visiting again. Thank you Kathleen!
The house was easy to find with a GPS equipment, located in a very quiet area. The room was very pleasant, with view on the garden, and no noise coming from the street.
We spent there 2 nights. Kathleen is a very interesting person, she cooked simple and tasty breakfasts. We felt very comfortable in her home. As a first experience with Airbnb, we are fully delighted.
