The Space

LARGE 1 bedroom apartment, full kitchen, high ceilings, full bath, sofabed (can sleep additional 2 people). Decorated very well, kept very clean, quiet neighbors, NO SMOKING, 1 block away from Rittenhouse sq on historic block of Spruce street...all historic brownstones! Internet access, flat screen TV/DVD, cable, 2nd floor front, great light and people watching on Spruce st.

Steps away from Center City shopping district, nationally recognized restaurants, 15 min walk to U Penn and Drexel, Old City, museums, short subway ride to Northern Liberties, sports complexes, West Philly, 10 minute walk to 30th street station or Suburban station....just such a great location. Everything you need is steps away!

I am so in love with my apartment and how I decorated it so I thought, why not share it with people who appreciate the urban life, want to visit Philly (my hometown) and enjoy a nice ambiance and home in a great location. My apartment is very homey and welcoming...I hope you think so too :)

*linens and towels
*hair dryer
*clothing iron
*sewing kit
*lots of mirrors/vanity areas for the ladies (or men)

Guest Access

Interaction with Guests

not much. I can exchange keys in advance if needed or meet guests and show them around on request. I usually leave the keys in a secure spot and from there the guest can arrive/depart as they like. This is how I like to travel :)

The Neighborhood

the OLD brownstones, most from the early 1900s

the cute BYOB restaurants, cafes and boutiques

rittenhouse square a mere block away - my green oasis and great people watching

the running trail and dog park a few blocks west of my apartment

the community is great. people look out for each other, safe, nice neighbors, nice mix of families and youngsters, quaint and quiet

Getting around

you can walk everywhere in Philly with a nice set of legs and good shoes. but, if you need to reach the stadiums or neighborhoods more than 1 mile away, the subway is close by, you can walk to 30th street train station from my apartment and bus routes are abundant

Other Things to Note

I've lived in many neighborhoods on Philly and Rittenhouse is my favorite.

  • Rachele's apartment was lovely - in a great spot, full of light - and she was a helpful and kind host, I would definitely recommend staying there.

  • Rachele was a gracious host, and made herself available throughout my stay. Location was awesome, apt. very clean. High ceilings, personality and character. Really felt like staying in a friends home.

  • We h
Enjoyed our stay in Rachele's apartment. We did not realise is was up stairs when we booked but managed OK. The doors to the apartments are not numbered so we were not sure which one but Rachele was available on the phone. Spruce st is in a nice part of town. Thanks Rachele.

  • We (3 persons) stayed in Philly for a conference. Rachele's apartment had enough space for the 3 of us. The neighbourhood is friendly and green, and city center (and conference center) is easy to reach by foot. Though we never met Rachele, she was very helpful. We would absolutely stay here again!

  • Rachele's place is fantastic. The sofa bed is great, but like all sofa beds, sometimes even greater if you just take the mattress and put it on the floor rather than on the bumpy sofa bed frame... Rachele's place feels very European.

  • Although we never met Rachele she was still a super-host! She made checkin and checkout very easy for us and when we got in to the apartment there was a very welcoming message and some treats for us inside :)
Rachele always answered our emails very quick and she left us a list of her favourite spots in Philly wich was perfect for us since we knew very little about the neighbourhood.
We were traveling with our 8 month old daughter and the apartment was perfect for us! We thought that it was bigger than what you can see on the pictures, a very roomy and lovely home. Our daughter could play and roll around on the livingroom floor and she actually learned to crawl during our stay :)
It's a really nice neighbourhood with some great restaurants and a really cool little grocery store just a block away that has the best beer selection! Close to walk basically anywhere you want to. We walked from the train station without any problems, bags/stroller/baby and all :)
All in all, a great place with a super-hostess! We would definetly stay here again if (when) we get back to Philly!
    Thanks Rachele!

  • Stayed here for a few days, first time in Philadelphia and Rachele's apartment was in a great location, could walk to pretty much anything... The apartment itself was really cool too. Had a great stay, would recommend to anyone!

  • Rachele's place was wonderful - very clean, large, and perfectly located in in the center of the city. Bed was really comfortable and place felt warm and inviting. Rachele was incredibly responsive and hospitable, and made the whole process very easy. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Philadelphia.

  • Rachele's apartment is in a perfect location right in the center of philly. The apartment is clean and beautiful inside and very spacious, it was great for our family of 4. She is easy to communicate with and was flexible with check in times. One of our best airbnb stays yet, would definitely reccommend!!

Fun loving, adventurous, love to travel, experience different cultures Favorite travel destination: Greece Favorite book: hmmm, that's tough Favorite movie: Far and Away and Walk the Line Favorite show: Chopped Favorite music: Coldplay, Adele, Michael Jackson, Dave Mathews Favorite food: Sushi or Asian My style is travel is casual. I like to stay at places and visit spots the locals would. Not a fan of tourist traps where all I see and meet are...other tourists ;) I love to have guests and host parties. I like people to feel comfortable in my apartment and surrounded by nice decor, enjoy good food and wine and great conversation. Life motto: All you need is LOVE :)
