I had a great two night stay with Alwyn. She was accommodating and hospitable. And her location is excellent! She even has her own beautiful paintings in the guest room. I would love to book a stay with her again if I'm back in Dublin!
I stayed for just a night and it was great! Alwyn is a delightful host with knowledge of Dublin and the nearby area. Highly recommended!
Alwyn was very warm and knowledgeable about the area. She had great suggestions for beaches, pubs, and sightseeing. She offered me breakfast and tea each day. Her dog Jake is adorable and equally as friendly.
I booked imagining warmth and willingness of a b&b host at showing me all the wonders and places that only a local knows. I had brought a set of water color pencils and corn flatbread rounds (corn tortillas) to greet my host. We never met. She was busy.
I had made reservations elsewhere but had booked with her for a room, hoping for three days of the exploration of Dublin,... All paid for by me as I had offered her during our telephone conversation. She was busy on Friday and Saturday but had agreed to show me around on Sunday. I never got her call. It was a disappointment! I did not make any attempt to recoup the money I spent on imagining a warm stay in Ireland with the famous "gillespies". (A taxi cab driver I had bragged to, had told me Alwyn was
part of a local family of known artists in Dublin.) (No hard feelings, Alwyn! I still enjoyed my stay).
I stayed with Alwyn twice during my holiday in Ireland. She was a generous host and helped me with a small favour that made my travels easier. The room is large and comfortable. I walked into the city but there are also plenty of buses nearby. There is a direct bus to the airport which was very convenient. I would stay with Alwyn and Jake again.
Like the owner said it is in a working class neighborhood. But the it is a quiet place that has good value.
Alwyn was a great host, everything was great! The room is clean and cozy, the location is perfect. And Jake the dog is super cute :) recommend!
