CENTRO: Traditional Mexican House

House - Private room · Altamirano Sur, Querétaro, Querétaro 76000, Mexico

The Space

MI CASA ES TU CASA — and from here you can easily explore beautiful Queretaro: UNESCO World Heritage site!

I am a Mexican-Canadian artist & this humble house is also home to my girlfriend and 3 dogs. I love art and Mexican artesania and you'll see the house reflects this.

Queretaro is known as one of the safest and most vibrant cities in Mexico, and from the house you can stroll at leisure and enjoy the Spanish colonial architecture, museums, city tours, art galleries, alternative circus, restaurants for all budgets, cafés, and the dynamic liveliness of the "Centro Historico". Close by bus are equally gorgeous San Miguel de Allende, Guanjuato and (La Peña de) Bernal, all of which are also UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Taxis are plentiful and cheap. The main embarkation point for city buses is literally a minute or 2 walk.

  • It was like staying in a Mexican art gallery -- if that gallery were cozy, comfortable and presided over by someone smart, warm and helpful. The casa is in an ideal location: in the historic district but a few blocks away from the bustle. Minerva told us the best places to eat and what to see, and her recommendations were spot-on. In just two days, I felt that she was my friend. The room has a charming tiled bathroom and looks out onto a courtyard. Plenty of storage and a comfy bed. Gracias, Minerva!

  • Minerva is truly a goddess of wisdom. I arrived totally exhausted in Queretero after a nightmare flight from Europe and found an oasis of tranquility and thoughtfulness. Minerva had anticipated every need. She and her house can't be praised highly enough!

  • I loved everything about my short stay in Queretaro but most of all I enjoyed meeting Minerva, her friends, and family. She has a wonderful home that is beautiful and welcoming. I cannot recommend staying with Minerva more and hope she comes to visit me in Portland.

  • I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in all of Queretaro. Minerva's home is beautiful, and the room is lovely, quiet, and private. Minerva is generous with helping out with maps, restaurant recommendations, taxi calls, and anything else you might need. Highly recommend.

  • Minerva and her home are both awesome! We can't say enough nice things about our experience there. The house is lovely, wonderfully located, and safe. The room is beautiful and is open to fresh air and sunshine. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom was so clean and well maintained. She even gave us a jug of purified water to use. As for Minerva, the best hostess hands down. She made us feel welcomed and gave excellent advice for restaurants and things to see and do. If you're thinking about booking with her, do it! Her house is truly a hone.

  • Everything about my stay at Minerva's home was such a pleasurable experience, starting with the welcoming committee by her dogs:Shalom, Singey (sp.?) and Ringo.
It was like staying with a friend: she loaned me her bike, she found and purchased the coco water I was so desperately looking for... we had lovely brief chats as I was coming and going, about dogs, art, life and the world... the restaurant recommendations were right on. And she got me off on the right track by having a map for me to use.
Location is super, the Centro and all its pleasures all in walking distance.
The room and bathroom are 4 star with a super comfy bed.
The whole house light and airy... wish I had found out about Queretaro and Minerva's Casa in Centro sooner and I would have stayed longer.
I hope she'll come and visit me in Berlin!

  • This was our first Airbnb experience. What a great introduction! Minerva´s casa is charming. Convenient to everything, very quiet and comfortable. Minerva herself is a delight. A warm, friendly person who wants to do everything she can to make her guests' stay quality. She even loaned me her sweater one day as I had (foolishly) not brought any extra cover from home and we had one very cool day and chilly evening. We will go back to Queretero again, just to have a visit with Minerva. Highly recommend this spot to anyone.

  • We stayed at Minerva's place for our very first night in Mexico. And everything was just absolutely fantastic! Her place is nothing short of amazing: great bedroom and there's a really beautiful patio to chill out. And Minerva is such a nice host: she gave us lots of ideas about places to see in Queretaro and where to eat. She traveled around the world and we had so much in common. We definitely want to go back and highly recommend her place!

  • Minerva's house is lovely and extremely well located. It is just far enough from the centro to be very quiet but yet close enough so that a five minute walk gets you to the plazas of the centro.

Minerva was a wonderful host - extremely nice, helpful and easy going. Too bad we were only there for one night - and we arrived much later than expected due to an accident blocking the highway. We will return again and stay a little longer next time!

This was out first time using airbnb and I hope all our experiences are this good.

  • Minerva's home was the perfect place for us to stay in Queretaro and she was a wonderful hostess. We couldn't have felt more welcome. By the time we left we felt more like friends than guests! It was centrally located for easy walking through the narrow streets and andadors to many squares and churches. We managed an overnight trip to nearby Guanajuato and a day trip to San Miguel so it's a great homebase for those who like to get out and explore. We would happily recommend her home personally to our friends and family.
