Villa - Private room · Tarifa, Cadiz 11391, Spain

The Space

Romantic “Luna” (The Moon) bedroom #2 of 5 bedrooms in the large guest house in a park with lake, totalling a dozen different spaces that we rent out at 'Los Baños de la Luz', near the village of Facinas in Tarifa. Please see our other spaces if you don't think this one is for you.

Please don't worry about booking one of our individual spaces and then not being happy with it. We'll swap you around whether it's an upgrade or downgrade plus price adjustment. You just pay the difference or get a refund. In fact, we often move people around when they realise they've made the wrong choice of sleeping space, or for example, they just want to experiment first in a tent by the lake and then settle for a more comfortable bedroom.

Details can ONLY be provided once you've booked via this AirBnB site as per our agreement with them. Only then can we send you a link to ´Like´ our website with printable instructions, maps and photographs of the roads leading to Los Baños de la Luz.

Cosily tucked in the heart of the upstairs floor with access from the inside of the guest house. The relative shadiness of this room is much appreciated in the summer heat. Warm light enters through the balustrade door and the rtear window opens the view to the east side where the pristine National Park spreads for hundreds of square kilometers. Through the patio door you see the mystic mountain “San Bartolo”which resembles Ayers rock during sunset, when coming home from pristine Bolonia Beach only 10 km away.

You will not want to leave from this quiet, cosy place.

The whole first floor of the rebuilt and recently refurbished 100 year old rural country house is divided into 5 unique bedrooms, each one with its special charme. All are equipped with wooden shutters to keep out the sometimes too bright sunlight and the heat in summertime. The views are breathtaking and one cannot get enough to fill ones heart with the beauty of this almost untouched zone of the Spanish peninsula. The tip of Europe, only a dolphins leap accross to Marrocco, the African continent.

The community kitchen with inside and outside stoves invite to cook your favorite meals and devour them at the oval wooden table in the middle of the shaded patio. The grill invites to cook shrimps and eggplants on it. Gazpacho the famous, delicious mixture of cucumbers, tomatos, olive oil and dried bred is being prepared in the blender and kept in the fridge to refresh you in the heartwarming heat of the long summer days. Fresh fruit juices are centrifuged in the practical kitchen appliance and will guarantee a stay in Paradise, gastronomical bliss. The hammock await you for your after lunch siesta. La dolce far niente par excellence. The climate is incomparable to anything in the northern hemisphere. Cool seabreezes, coming wavelike across 6000 km of pure, cool waters of the gigantic Atlantic ocean, often bring fresh relief from the dry, hot desert wind risen over the Sahara sand which is so loved by the many windsurfers only 4 miles to the southwest.

A reed encircled lake born from the springs on the hilly side of our land the national park, “Los Alcornocales”, an Eden, an untouched fleck of earth.

A picture is worth a thousand words and it is left to you how to indulge into the phantasies how deep you will enjoy your leasure and enjoyment with us.

Inspired as you will feel you will heat up the pizza oven to bake your favorite cakes in it after a few hours of warmup time. The turning grill is apt to grill the fish that you have caught in the ocean or bought in our local fishmarket.

  • I had Buzzels lovely rustic house all to myself.Great location. Kitchen well equiped with all the tools you need. I don´t know if the TV and sound system worked, didn´t look like it. The maintainence man and his wife, the cleaning lady, were a treat, solid country folk.
Will stay again when i have the time.

  • My friend and I stayed three days at this peaceful haven and couldn’t be happier. Los Baños the Luz is found smack in the beautiful Andalucian countryside yet close to Tarifa and all the surrounding beaches. Our hosts, Buzzel and Laila, made sure we felt welcomed and turned out to be great conversationalists. The house in itself is really charming and the rooms are all equipped with comfy beds, hammocks and fresh flowers. Highly recommended!

  • We had a very peaceful and enjoyable time at Los Baños de Luz, and came back from this 4 day-trip fully energized. The house is 200 years old and is beautifully decorated. Great library full of interesting and surprising books! Very energetic and spiritual house in the middle of the most amazing nature. Very close to lovely towns and villages (pueblos blancos) and to beautiful Bolonia beach. Buzzel´s presence and conversations (the owner) made our stay memorable. Before leaving, we had a great breakfast time with our neighbours - two very nice swedish girls - and Buzzel with whom we shared a nice conversation. It was like if we knew each other from long time.

Make sure you get a lamp/lantern that you can use on your way home at night because the road is totally dark and you will have to open and close manually a fence before arriving home.

I am very grateful for this beautiful experience at Baños de Luz.

  • Los Banos de la Luz was a true paradise for me and my boyfriend! We come here coming from the noisy and crowded Costa del Sol and really appreciated the peaceful and confortable place we found here!
The things we loved the most was the truly welcome that Buzzel and Laila but also Antonia and Manolo reserved for us! They made us feel at home! Rooms are very comfortable and well equipped but I really loved the possibility to cook inside and outside the house and especially...the patio! Here we have had long conversations with Buzzel and with the other guests, really loving the pleasure to SHARE...sharing the same place, sharing our experience, sharing feelings! You have to discover day by day this magic place, spending your time with all nice people there and coming back home enriched by this great experience inside your heart and mind.

The Airbnb profile page does not give him a choice. There is only one possibility: (“Hi, I am Buzzel”) Let's try it a little differently: "Hello", "THEY CALL ME BUZZEL" Buzzel is beyond description... When I tried to describe myself how I feel inside, few people booked rooms, but then I found out that it was wintertime when not many guests come here anyway, so I put the old description back in After all these years, Buzzel still does not know, who he is. The eternal questions remain: To be, or not to be? Who am I? It has been proven to him, that even this “I” he is referring to, cannot be found anywhere. God is nowhere! . . . or, God is now here?! Is there a Real “I”? Buzzel has looked in a lot of places. ¿What if it cannot be found in a place? What if it has been here all along? He still does not know, who he is, but at least he has found out, what he is not. Even in almost seventy years he has not found out. Am I, am I not? Am I God, am I part of God? Is God in me? Am I a manifestation of God? Am I a manifestation of the devil? Or am I both at the same time, interwoven and overlapping? Since there is no findable “I”, what exactly is he referring to, when he says “I”? The divine comedy? The dance of existence? Questions, questions and very few clear answers. He knows that he does not know. He lives in the certainty, that the conscience does not solve the problems. What about moral? Keine Materie, kein Bestand. It is even certain, that all these insights grew on his own heap of manure. Yes, he has found God, but not the God they tried to sell to him. No, the real one, the one that does not exist in the sense in which most of us have created him or her. To live with this mystery, to flower in it without limits. With the strength of conscious immortability. There is no Buzzel, there is nothing, on what he could hang onto. Yes, or maybe not! To live in the Mystery, crazy, no “baaing” herd animal. Hi, they call me Buzzel, but I don’t have a clue who this is. Born: Yes, along time ago. Died: Not quite yet. Living in the mystery, avoiding the herd. Buzzel has journeyed and stayed in many places and spaces throughout time. Come and stay with him for a while, where horses and cows, donkeys, foxes and rabbits are still roaming around freely in the meadows and hills and where you don’t have to lock the doors of your car, the house or your heart. You will most likely enjoy living in our space and share our way and view of life. Come and share your peace of mind or find it here with us, fellow traveler, for a brief moment. ¡Be my guest! Buzzel is not just trying to sell you the use of a bed for a night or two for a certain number of €uros, £ounds or $ollars, he is offering you an experience of the place and the space, something you can take with you and where you can return to anytime. Come here and feel for yourself. Please read what our visitors write about their experience and please be my guest.
