Cozy one bedroom cabin on Burns Cove. Enjoy beautiful views of water and wildlife from the surrounding deck. In cold weather, snuggle up by the woodstove and savor the solitude. Guests appreciate the surrounding forests and Puget Sound.

The space
The cabin is set up for an adult single or adult couple. Great views from both the inside and outside. Large picture windows so you can enjoy the waterfront. The north facing views of Burns Covd and Oyster Bay give you ever changing sunrises and sunsets. Watch the tides shift in and out every six hours along with the seabirds and sometimes seals and otter. Cabin is 360 sq ft. Comfy double bed with comforter( not a queen size but then we expect you're here with someone you enjoy being close to!), closet, dresser, equipped kitchen area, electric heat plus woodstove, bathroom with shower and toilet (double sink in kitchen area), outdoor barbeque, deck furniture... . Wish we could accommodate kids but because of the bank and waterfront we have to limit occupancy to adults.

Cabin is set up for those who are looking for solitude in a natural setting. Take a walk through our woods or trails through neighboring forest, stop to say "hello" to Tally and Kippy, our resident carriage horses. Barbeque oysters fresh from Totten Inlet. Cook a nice dinner in the equipped kitchenette or take a 20 minute trip into Olympia to enjoy restaurants, music, plays, brewpubs or?? Plenty of on-site parking.

Other things to note
Since this is a cabin it might pose some problems for people with severe mobility problems. The walk from parking to the cabin is about 100 feet along a sloping gravel pathway. Check with hosts if you have any special needs...we'll do our best to accommodate them. We'll have breakfast items for your arrival days. Cell phone (Verizon) reception is good. Free, very hi speed guest Wi-Fi for remote workers. There is a barbeque set up at the cabin. Rough trail or steps to beach in front of cabin...check with us. Binoculars, field guides, National Forest Pass, maps, umbrellas (you'll seldom need them), extra cooking gear and just about anything else you might need is in the cabin or available on loan from the hosts. Bathroom is small with an older functional and very clean shower and toilet....double sink is in the kitchenette area. Local oysters from the inlet are readily available nearby. We've enjoyed nine years of hosting 347 plus great guests .

Neighborhood highlights

This is a quiet rural neighborhood with plenty of places to walk. Our four acre site is open to you and is completely surrounded by forests (with walking paths) and water. Many will never want to leave the property. However, within 25 minutes we have salmon viewing (November), a tribal museum, parks along Puget Sound, waterfront boardwalks, performing arts center, numerous golf courses, live theater, bookstores, farmers' markets, brewpubs, wine bars, restaurants for every taste, kayaking and more. Just seven minutes away is a small market that carries anything needed for your stay plus a neighborhood pub (Character's Corner) that is well worth a meal stop.

Lynne and I feel fortunate to live in this part of the world and enjoy sharing the experience with others....We enjoyed the experience of living in Japan and I've been fortunate to live or work in Europe and the Western Pacific. However, after 24 years living here we still find ourselves standing still, staring out into the forest or out on Puget Sound never tiring of the experience. We stay busy Lynne is a hand bell choir director (I also play) and she drives horses (carriage types). She is also a great knitter, a harp player and takes part in many other activities. I enjoy helping with those activities plus am active in a non profit that works to help our state parks. We both work daily on keeping up our four acres and improving it with more plants, etc. On winter days we might hunker down with a book but when spring arrives we come out of hibernation and enjoy every minute of sun (even if it is filtered through clouds). We hope you will come and enjoy the area. Many people never leave our spot in the woods but we have plenty of information to help you plan your travels here in Washington. AirBnB has brought so many interesting people here...we look forward to your visit.
