The space

Room with own private courtyard. Room consists of loft double bed. 2 seater couch and coffee/meals table, 32" flat screen TV & DVD. Microsound system with Ipod/Iphone charger and player, clothes rack and heater. Relax on the couch, watch TV and have meals in your private room

Perfect inexpensive accomodation for you . It is just 400 metres from Carnegie station and excellent shopping on Carnegie's Koornang Rd Shopping Strip. 13K from CBD. 400 metres to Carnegie train station, bus a few metres away. It also offers Free wireless internet. 2 keys provided one for house entrance and one for the room.

This art deco home consists of , 4 rooms at front and 4 at the rear with kitchen in the middle. laundry and 2 bathrooms. Parking available. There is also a communal kitchen with all amenities, microwave, cutlery. cooking utensils etc. A cleaner visits the property once a fortnight to clean communal areas ie kitchen, bathrooms and hallways.

The room is quiet and totally private with it's own private courtyard and situated at the rear of the property.

Great location, close to station and shops. The room was smaller than I expected, based on the pictures in the posting. I found the loft bed and its placement uncomfortable. Bill was prompt in responding to messages. I did not face any availability issues sharing the bathroom with 3 other rooms. Overall, I feel that the other rooms in the property are a better value for money.

Room as described but with limited storage. Communal kitchen and bathroom shared between 8 rooms were not kept clean. Cleaner apparently comes every 3 weeks but didn't see her during our month stay. Some housemates did help keep the areas clean but still generally dirty. Location is about 10mins from Carnegie train station and the area has a supermarket and some cafes, takeaways etc. Location fine for longer term stay in Melbourne but if you are only here for a few days it may be a little too far from the city centre to be convenient. Fine for cheap shared accommodation and bill was friendly and helpful whenever required but in no way a comfortable, homely experience.

We had a good stay here. The room is definitely just as it was described, it was perfect for a couple. - Location: very close to shops and train station (trams and buses run close as well). - WIFI: worked well most of the time (which is pretty good for Australian standards, don't expect it to be like WIFI in Europe). - House: plenty of room to put groceries and other shopping in the cupboards & fridge. This room had a line outsides to dry your washing which was nice. Everything is just as described. - Hygiene: the room itself was clean, the rest of the house not so much. The description said there is a cleaner that comes every week but nobody has seen her/him or seen any cleaning that was done during our stay (1 month). Ourselves + the other house mates kept everything clean though, once in a while someone of us would vacuum the communal areas or clean the bathroom (there were cleaning products we could use). - Host: Bill was very helpful, we asked for two sets of keys and they were provided immediately!

Bill is a great host, he checked in to make sure we were ok and then left us to it. The room has a lovely outside area which we spent most of our time in, very private and nice for eating meals/hanging out washing/having friends over. The other people that live in the house are very friendly and happy to help with anything if you get stuck! The house is 5 mins away from a main road with a great pub and lots of restaurants if you want to eat out, or supermarkets if you want to cook at home. The train station is a 10 min walk and takes you right into the city in about 15 mins, the trains come every 10 mins so its a perfect base for exploring. All in all we really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others who are looking for a quiet place to sleep while being close to everything as well. Thanks!

I stayed 1.5 months. The accomodation was modest but functional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Location is great for getting to places in Melbourne. Very good public transportation close to the house.
