Enjoy an unforgettable stay at the home of world-renowned architect Omar El-Farouk at the serene Tunis Village overlooking the scenic Qarun lake.

The space
Disciple of legendary architect Hassan Fathy, Omar El-Farouk is one of the world’s most influential architects in the world of islamic architecture. He has designed and built many projects in the Middle East and around the world.

He spent over 20 years building his house in Tunis Village, wanting to create a great example of traditional architecture. Most importantly he wanted people to experience how good proportions, suitable materials and different construction techniques harmonize together to generate fine architecture. This house has an Islamic design that blends authenticity and modernity simulating the Mamluk and Fatemi eras’ architecture.

This house became famous as the home of the character Badr portrayed by the great actor Sayed Ragab in the famous Ramadan series Newton’s Game.

The rentable studio in the house is fully equipped and has a balcony with a stunning view of the lake.

The studio features a king-size bed that comfortably sleeps two guests. A sofa is available that can accommodate a third guest who is comfortable sleeping on a couch rather than a bed.

To take a virtual tour of this studio, please search for “Arcade Home - East Wing Studio” on YouTube.

We also have a West Wing Studio that can be booked at the link below:

Other things to note
Please note that due to government regulations we are not allowed to accept in the same studio unmarried couples of Egyptian or Arab citizenship. Married couples of Egyptian or Arab citizenship need to show proof of marriage. Any other foreign citizenship is OK.

Please note that while the studio can host up to 3 guests, the third sleeping space is a sofa (not a pull-out bed). We recommend this setup for a child, teen, or adult who is comfortable sleeping on a couch.

My work: Self employed
Speaks Arabic, English, and French
I'm an Egyptian/Canadian professional musician/architect. I'm tidy, punctual, respectful, and friendly. I left a promising career in architecture to move from Cairo to Montreal to pursue music professionally. I can't live without music, the sea, good food, good company, and Frisbee. Some of the places I enjoyed traveling to are Sinai, the Bahamas, Beirut, Scotland, and Paris. Some of the books I read are: Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, The Alchemist, a few novels by Najib Mahfouz and Alaa Al Aswany. Some of my favorite movies are Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, The Pink Panther films, Tarantino films, and many many Egyptian films. Some of my favorite shows include Family Guy, South Park, Frasier, Game of Thrones, and many more. I'm a big musical chameleon but my roots are strong in different types of rock music, jazz, Arabic, middle eastern and world fusion. Some of my favorite cuisines include Egyptian, Syrian, Lebanese, Indian, Italian, French, Mauritanian, Moroccan, Iraqi, Turkish, Iranian, and the list goes on and on. Ever since I moved to Montreal I’ve been living in the same apartment since 2007 and at this point I’ve turned it into my home in Montreal. Since I travel a lot between Montreal and Cairo, I have someone sublet it while I’m in Cairo. I’ve had people sublet the apartment many times and they always enjoy their stay thanks to the cozy setting that I’ve created in the apartment over the years and thanks to the apartment’s prime and central location in the downtown area of Montreal.
