Loft in Palermo Hollywood.Pool VI

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Paraguay, Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina

The Space

Modern loft on the eighth floor of a new building. Decorated with a minimalistic style and new furniture. The apartment has two-story windows all along the apartment. These windows let in lots of light and a magnificent view of the city. There are a large swimming pool and a jacuzzi at the terrace among the amenities of the building. It is conveniently located in the Palermo neighborhood known for its fine restaurants and cafes as well as its shopping. One block away from Santa Fe Avenue , the metro line D. (Carranza) and the train station (Carranza). Metro is the best and fastest way to travel around the city, you can reach the city centre, San Telmo and Recoleta with this line.
On the first floor there are a living room, an open american style kitche, a toilette and a balcony with chairs and table where one can enjoy breakfast or even a meal. On its second floor a bedroom, a desk and a complete bathroom that also gets good light. The loft has excellent equipment: LCD TV screen, AC system (cooler and heater), fridge, DVD player, cable TV with channels in English. The building has 24/7 security, gym, sauna, an open grill space on the terrace.
No children under 12 are allowed at building amenities.

The apartment is located in Palermo, more precisely in Palermo Hollywood, which got its modern nickname after some of the major TV and radio studios moved there but is best known for its nightlife, which includes some of the best restaurants, bar and clubs in the city. Another sub-area of Palermo – Palermo Soho – is very near the apartment, just crossing Av. Juan B. Justo and it is the fashion epicenter of BA.
Palermo is a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood. There are no much offices apart from the design and software firms that are principally located in the area. It is also the area for modern and stylist furniture stores.
It’s a zone with a lot of old, Spanish-style architecture, more than other areas of the city. The combination of low houses, wide streets and trees lends it a nice atmosphere.
Security is not an issue in Palermo, as it is not in most of the neighborhoods you are probably going to visit (Palermo, Recoleta, Puerto Madero, San Telmo). You are going to be able to walk around at every hour of the day.

  • I spent 4 weeks in the apartment. It was a great time. The Subte is around the corner and into the downtown needs to 15min. In the neighborhood there are some very nice places where you can spend time and enjoy life in Buenos Aires. Marco was always helpful and answered all my mail always fast. Should I come back times to Buenos Aires I would immediately want to stay here again

  • We had a great stay at Marcos' place. The location is awesome. You literally walk around the corner and you're at the Carranza Subte and Mitre stations.

While the Subte runs underground, the mitre does not. If you are a light sleeper - be warned ... You will hear the train before 6 AM in the morning. Earplugs might work. Although it took some getting used to, having the station right next to you is worth it.

As for the neighborhood - we loved Palermo. You have a great ice cream shop (a block down), a parilla spot, some awesome pasta (el Rey del Vino) and these are all walking distance.

Marcos as a host is great. He lives close by and is easily reachable. We had to extend out stay and he was very helpful with that.

  • Late review, sorry: Our stay in Marcos' Appartment was truly a great experience. Its a very modern, airy place with a Bauhaus-style interior, all kept in white. It is a wonderful place to come back to after a long day wandering around the city. The pool of the rooftop was right-out beautiful. Unfortunately it was not the season to dip in (its not heated). But in Argentinean summer, this must be a real treat. We only saw Marcos briefly on the last day, but he was always reachable by SMS and very helpful to provide any information we asked for.

Esperienza positiva, Buenos Aires molto piacevole!!

  • The flat was exactly what we expected, having viewed the summary, reviews, and pictures. I agree with other reviewers about the wear and tear of the flat; it definitely needs a fresh coat of paint, better lighting in the bathroom, and perhaps some art on the walls to make it feel less stale (you can tell it’s a rental only flat). Having said that, we very much liked the area (Palermo), the small shops and restaurants and great access to the Subte (2 minute walk).
Marcos was very helpful in answering questions before arrival and during our stay
The flat had everything we needed for our week in BA (we even cooked a couple of meals). The gym was a surprisingly well equipped and we used the roof to tan (although it was a bit chilly).
Overall, a great stay at a very good price. Thank you Marcos for your assistance throughout.

  • Cool apartment, great location and good amenities. Marcos is a great host who is always contactable and responds quickly. We stayed for 6 nights.

  • We stayed 10 days in the apartment. The location is very convenient and it was a warm welcome by Marcos who speaks english well. The communication with him was very good. Prior to our stay he gave us all the informations we needed and was quick to answer. The kitchen is well equipped and everything worked. some kitchen utensils and a big pot for cooking pasta was missing. The air conditioning is a little bit loud and the doors to the balcony can not be locked while the balcony is accesible from the neighbouring apartments. The cleaner who was supposed to come once during our stay never showed up. The swimming pool is great. We liked the apartment and it was well equipped, but it looked a little run down all in all. It was clean, but there is obviously a lack of attention to repair and renovation of little things. It was a little bit noisy, but for Argentina and BA especially it is probably a quiet place...
A big advantage is the convenient location. The subway station and the train station is just down the street and there are good sized and even big supermarkets in walking distance. We felt very safe and there is a 24-hour security guard on the gate. The bed was comfortable, but quite small for 2 people. There was no change of linens and towels in the whole 10 days of our stay. The wifi was good mostly although the connection broke down sometimes and it got a little bit slow in the evening. Sometimes there was no hot water and the tap was spitting a little due to a lot of air in the system.
all in all it was a good experience. gives you a feeling of how people live in BA since there a not only tourists living in the house. Marcos is very professional and reliable and offered us all the help we need.

    Response from Marcos:

Apologies for the cleaning person not showing up, she was sick and couldnt come. I was out of town and only found out later on. If the guests had told me I would have provided fresh sheets and towels. The apartment is also getting little things repaired after the summer season.

  • Exactly what we hoped for and more! Great location in Palermo - a stunning two story loft with windows from top to bottom! The rooftop pool was amazing as we spent much time up there during the day and at sunset!!! Would recommend this flat to anyone. Marcos was great! Thank you!

  • Marcos was a great host and the loft was just what we were looking for. The apartment has a great balcony and big windows for lights of light. It's also in a perfect location for exploring Palermo. I miss it already :)
