Our unique 1913 Craftsman home is an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and Santa Monica and Venice beaches. Cruise the Santa Monica coastline from the Pier to Muscle Beach with two complimentary beach cruisers, experience the best of the southern California lifestyle. Parking is on the street, just double check street cleaning signs.
Our home is a classic Craftsman-style house built in 1913. It is Dale's childhood home and decorated with paintings by his parents and collectables from our travels. We are a 5-minute walk to Santa Monica beach and even closer to Main Street, which has a variety of restaurants, boutique shops, nightclubs, pubs, and coffee houses. There are bicycles included with the reservation and available to our guests to explore Santa Monica, the pier, Third Street Promenade, Venice beach, Abbott Kinney Boulevard, and beyond.
The guest bedroom, which has a queen-size bed with high thread count linens, and guest bathroom both have garden views. The suite is on the first floor of our home and extremely private. Since we are located so close to the beach, the Pacific Ocean breezes keep the house cool and comfortable. Wifi is available throughout the house, garden spaces, and side patio. We provide a hairdryer, flat iron, robes, and bath and beach towels for our guests. There is also an HDTV flatscreen with DirecTV satellite service in the guest bedroom. Use of the kitchen, outdoor bbq, garden spaces, washer/dryer, and jacuzzi hot tub is also included with the reservation.
Guests have access to all of the outdoor and downstairs indoor areas, which includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, garden, and side patio with Jacuzzi hot tub. The second floor areas are for our private use only.
Interaction with guests
We are both native Californians and have lived in Los Angeles for most of our lives. We'd be happy to help you navigate the city and get the most out of your stay in Santa Monica. We are always available to help our guests with questions and restaurant recommendations, but we also respect their need for privacy.

We'd like our guests to treat our house as they would their own home.
We have hardwood floors that can be damaged by sand, so please, please, please do a shake and a wipe down after a day at the beach :) Leave sandy shoes on the front porch.
We generally leave walking shoes in the front entry of the house and sandy beach towels on the front porch to dry. There is a bucket of water to wash your feet and a hose if you are really sandy. There is a broom and dust pan in your closet in case there is sand on the floor.
We have a curtain to the hallway to the guest bedroom and bathroom to offer our travelers more privacy. Please close the curtain when you're at home (so we know to keep the roar to a minimum!) and open it when you're out of the house.
We try to be considerate of people who are sensitive to scents by using unscented laundry detergent. We would appreciate it if you could use cologne and perfume with moderation.
There is an air conditioner in the room, please be sure to turn it off before you leave the house.
If you choose to smoke, you can do that on the side patio.
