This was my second stay at the garden cottage, but this time, I brought my husband along for the experience. We stayed only two nights, but thanks to the cottage's awesome location - and the binder of information from Cynthia on hikes, restaurants, etc - we squeezed as much as we could out of two days in the area. As always, the cottage was bright, very clean, perfectly decorated, and so comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a peaceful, tucked-away Airbnb gem outside of the bustle of San Francisco. I will definitely be back!
This cottage is as great as it looks! Down a cute little street in Mill Valley, close to Whole Foods and Muir Woods. Everything was clean, and ready when we arrived. The place was very comfortable for my mother and I, and having the two beds worked out perfectly. Muir Woods is only about 15min from the cottage, and Sausalito was about 20. We met Cynthia briefly when we were leaving and she was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
The cottage was opened, clean and bright, with a lovely welcome letter providing all necessary passwords and information about the cottage.
We very much enjoyed our days at this beautiful cottage in Mill Valley. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable, and the living room very relaxing. This part of Mill Valley is quiet and close to nature, but just a short stop to Joe's Tacos and Tamil Pie, two of our local favorite meals. Would return here in a heartbeat!
The photos speak the truth. This cottage is perfect by my standards & needs - beautiful, bright throughout the day, nicely decorated & appointed, comfortable (space heaters needed for heating when it's cold), & all around lovely. Lovely hosts, too. I rent in Marin often & this is by far my favorite - I've stayed here twice & look forward to returning.
The communication via airbnb message was easy and prompt. We appreciated the small details such as extra towels, coffee and oatmeal. The cottage has what you need and is clean and homey. It is very feminine and small for more than two but I'm sure you could squeeze more in there if absolutely necessary. We arrived on a Sunday and there were plenty of people in the backyard so there was limited privacy, a quick run around the home and closing the curtains did the trick. Check in was easy and check out was easier. We arrived at 5pm Sunday and left 8am Monday. The downside is for less than 24 hours and the location and what the cottage is, the price is not the best bank for your buck.
For $235 a night for two, for this area is a little steep for a nights sleep on a ok bed. I have and would likely stay in an alternative place given the knowledge and circumstances. Regardless it was easy and it was a good short stay!
Our normal check in time is 4 pm, and check out time 12 noon. A four hour window between guests is fairly standard, and absolutely necessary in order to prepare the cottage for the next guest, as we want to make sure it is spotless. Tammie chose to arrive later, and leave earlier, which is of course her prerogative.
The cottage does share a backyard, and we always make a concerted effort not to disturb our guests. However, we did not know exactly when she would arrive, and happened to be in the yard when she did.
The price per night is perfectly in line with the pricing of similar lodgings in the area. Tammie originally booked for just herself (at a lower rate), and then unexpectedly showed up with a friend, resulting in a higher rate.
