About this listing
Close to public transport, one of two cozy little guest rooms for two. This room is a 10 x 12 converted front porch, located on the first floor of a two family home.
Your host lives on the third floor.
Come visit Flushing Queens!
Flushing is the biggest China town in all of New York!! We are a foodies paradise! In the morning, be sure to visit one of the many Asian pastry shops in the neighborhood to try a coconut creme bun or a red bean bun. For lunch or dinner, don't miss the opportunity to try some authentic Korean BBQ. There are Korean BBQ restaurants all over Flushing! We are just a 13 min walk from the 7 train and downtown Flushing, or, just catch the bus on the corner. I can help you find your way around NY!
Rules? No pets, no drugs and no smoking inside the room please. I have two cats so, not a good match for those of you with bad allergies or phobias. Please be considerate to the other guests and keep noise level down after 9 pm. The room can get noisy since its in the front of the house. Not a good match for those that need pitch black room and extreme quiet to sleep. Thanks!
Interaction with Guests
Me? I'm just a happy housewife with a little girl, baby boy and 2 cats. I'm usually upstairs with the kids, so you can have most of the apartment to yourself. Come stay in my guest room. :)
No smoking inside the house
When you leave the property, please make sure you lock the front door.
We prefer shoes off inside the house.
After 9 pm, please keep your volume to a minimum.
Please dry off the bathroom counter after washing your face.
Please use the squeegee in the shower to wipe the water of the shower walls when you finish with your shower.
When finished with the bath matt, please hang it back up.
Please put the window shades back up after finished with the bathroom.
When its time to check out, please let me know, leave the guest room open and send me a message. We hope to see you again next time. :)
Linda was really nice, she gave us a little book with instructions on how to move in the city. The house was really clean and everything was perfect. I really recommend it! Plus she and her husband speak spanish.
Linda was a very nice host and my friend and I had a comfortable stay at her house. The location is great. There is a bus station almost right in front of the house but it is also in a walking distance to the subway station Flushing Mainstreet. Linda cares a lot about her guests and even provides a little book with information about the area. I would absolutely recommend her and I would certainly stay with her again.
Linda's house is conveniently located a short walk or bus ride to the 7 subway line to Manhattan.
Linda and her husband are very helpful and have two cute small kids. The room is small but comfortable.
The room is nice and airy and you can leave the windows open. The area was very safe. We enjoyed our stay in Flushing and NYC!:)
I stayed 11 nights at Linda's with a friend. Linda was friendly, the room and bathroom were very clean and the room was equipped with air conditioning which was great because the summer in NYC can be quite hot !
We felt very welcome :)
The few negative items are related to the neighboorhood : although it feels very safe, it can be a little noisy at night. Plus, it is far from Manhattan (about 1 hour to reach the Met for example). But for budget travelers as we were it is still quite convenient and easy to access with public transportation and definitely worth the price.
Thank you Linda for this nice stay !!
Staying with Linda was a great first experience using Airbnb. She was very accommodating and the room was just as in the picture. The house is beautiful and everything is well organized, it has a few rules to follow but they're not a bother, just follow them and be a decent human being. Linda's cats are beautiful fluffy creatures that are very lovable and entertaining and if you're a cat person such as myself you'll really enjoy having them around to pet. There's a nice kitchen area that you can use but I never did, but I would recommend using it if you want to save some money since food in the city is quite overpriced. There's a water filter and I strongly recommend you take advantage of it since it's an easy way to save money because water bottles in the city can cost in some cases $2 or more and it's a no brainier alternative. The bed was sooo comfortable, great for my boyfriend and I since everyday we arrived at night really tired from walking up and down NYC and all we wanted was to have was a good night sleep to power up for the next day. The house is located in a calm neighborhood and there's lots and lots of Asian restaurants close by, but if you're like me and Asian food is not your thing, there are a few pizza places close by and fast food chain restaurants near the subway station. A suggestion for those going to the city is to take the 7 Express since it's a lot faster (it skips a few stops) than the local one but be aware it closes at 9:35 PM.
