Recently featured in the Times Ledger! One of two cozy little guest rooms for two. This room is a converted front porch, located on the first floor of a two family home. Your host lives on the third floor. Come visit Flushing Queens!
Flushing is the biggest China town in all of New York!! We are a foodies paradise! In the morning, be sure to visit one of the many Asian pastry shops in the neighborhood to try a coconut creme bun or a red bean bun. For lunch or dinner, don't miss the opportunity to try some authentic Korean BBQ. There are Korean BBQ restaurants all over Flushing! We are just a 13 min walk from the 7 train and downtown Flushing, or, just catch the bus on the corner. I can help you find your way around NY!
Rules? No pets, no drugs and no smoking inside the room please. I have three cats that will stay out of your way, but not a good match for those of you with bad allergies. Please be considerate to the people that live with me and keep the noise level down after 10pm. The room can get noisy since its in the front of the house. Also at the moment, the TV only works with the DVD player. Not a good match for those that need pitch black room and extreme quiet to sleep. Thanks!
Me? I'm just a happy housewife with a baby girl, 3 cats, and a cherry-head conure. I'm usually upstairs with the baby, so you can have most of the apartment to yourself. Come stay in my guest room. :)
awesome host, nice stay.
i was only here on a flying visit before catching a flight the next morn, but everything was great.
Linda and her family were beautiful and sweet! Her baby was adorable! I had a blast staying with them. The place was super clean. It was beautifully decorated. The place was calm and inviting. It was easy to walk back to her house at night because there were sparkle lights that hung on the outside and hanging lamps by the window. I had so much fun with her pets. Her cats had personality! Talk about a strutting catwalk! The bird had great rhythem. When you tapped on something, the bird would tap back with it's beak. The neighborhood was fun to explore. Linda helped us with directions to all the places we needed to go. She commuincated back quickly when I asked her about a million questions. There is an awesome authentic indian restaurant around the corner. My mom and I had a blast. Linda and I also bonded over art!
Linda is a great host!
We arrived late at her house and that didn't cause any problem. It is very convenient when you land late at night. Very easy to come from JFK airport, since Linda took time to explain in details how to join her house. Then, the bus stop is just in front of her door.
The room is clean and confortable and very warm (we stay in NYC in March!). Linda is very attentive : she leaves a book with all necessary informations (restaurants, public transports, inside rules...). She also accepted to boil water for our chinese noodle.
There is a radio set to listen to music and a TV with DVD player (with walt disney movies). There are also turistic booklets in the drawer. The only thing that can disturb you is the natural light in the room early in the morning if you like dark room. But that enables us to wake up early to go to visit Manhattan :).
The bathroom is very cosy and she leaves us all the toiletries if you are short of something. There is classical music in the bathroom that makes the place calming.
The house is very calm as well as the area. If you love Chinese food, it would be a paradise. 7 train is about 10 minutes walking, easy to access and you will take 30 minutes to go to Grand Central or Times Squares.
Very good deal ! Thank you Linda!
My boyfriend and me had a great time staying at Linda's place. Everything is more than we expected. This is our first experience to use airbnb. Thank you very much.
Linda's guestroom is clean，warm and comfortable .She gave me detailed advice on how to get to my next (email hidden)e is a very good and kind host。
Very nice comfortable spot....coffee conversation privacy and peace...a great alternative stop in Flushing....recommend for anyone traveling...thank you
It was a pretty nice and warm guest room. Walkable to subway and there are plenty of nice Chinese food around the station. Good place to stay if you want to stay around flushing!
Linda was a very nice host. Everything was very clean! I would stay there again.
Linda was gracious and her place was quiet, clean, warm and cute..it was all that we could have asked for and then some.
We didn't get to see each other much as it was the holidays and we all had family stuff to do but everything we needed was provided for and she was quick to respond to any inquiries.
We really enjoyed getting the opportunity to thoroughly explore Flushing for the first time as well and took advantage of some pretty amazing places in the neighborhood. For one, Ganesh temple, a block down Bowne, was quite the experience along with countless Korean and Chinese places.
The walk to the 7 or LIRR is short, 10 minutes tops, but if your feeling less adventurous there are plenty of buses that service the neighborhood, including the Q65 bus which stops literally next door and goes straight to the Main St #7 stop so it really couldn't be any easier. (Tip: use westbound express trains in the morning and eastbound at night, to save time on your trips in and out on Manhattan. Another is LIRR 'city pass' which costs only $4 on the weekends and gets you to Penn in under 20 minutes and in relative comfort.)
Thanks again Linda and family!
I definitely recommend this guestroom. We stayed two nights here. The location is very good, only 10 minutes walk from main street in Flushing downtown. The guestroom is clean and tidy.Linda is very kind to prepare slippers, bath towels for us. Also the cat is very cute.
