Casa Silas offers you a very comfortable Queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with hot shower. Our rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and ceiling fans, and also feature skylights for a gentle wake up call from the Nicaraguan sunrise and the parrots outside your window. The rooms look out upon the courtyard garden and swimming pool. Your most difficult decision at Casa Silas will be whether to have a morning dip in the pool before or after coffee. In addition to coffee we also offer a selection of fresh, local fruits, jams, pastries and heartier breakfast fare to start your morning of exploring. We also offer complimentary high speed WiFi, VoIP telephone calls to the US, Canada and Mexico, and laundry service. There's more... Full concierge services are also available, including arranging airport shuttle, car rentals, spanish lessons or area tours. Of course, we would be happy to take you on a walking tour of the city, a boat cruise of Las Isletas or if you prefer to explore on your own, we can arrange for a driver to take you to Volcano Mombacho or Volcano Masaya. There are also the artisan markets of Masaya or the pottery cooperatives of San Juan de Oriente. You won't want to go home empty-handed. We'll see you soon.
Rob and Claudia were great hosts! They met us upon our extremely late arrival (after Rob had graciously arranged transportation from the airport) - with two cold beers - what we really needed after a day of international travel with a two year old and a five month old. Casa Silas made the transition into Nicaragua easy. Rob had great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. He never guided us wrong. We had FABULOUS breakfasts every morning and really luxuriated in not having to cook, clean or even make our own tea/coffee. The pool was perfect for cooling off after excursions into town. Everything was very close and we were happy to be able to walk to a proper grocery store to buy food and drinks. It was a really great experience and we would recommend it to everyone! This is the perfect home base for seeing Granada!!
Wonderful place, wonderful hosts!
We stayed three nights at this fine B & B. Enjoyed every minute, especially the stimulating conversations with other guests and with Rob. Immaculate room, comfortable bed, full breakfast. Next time we're in Granada, here's where we'll stay!
What a tranquil gem very close to the Mercado Municipal and all other Granada sights. Rob is a perfect host and helpful with whatever you may need. One night he arranged for him and his wife, us, and the other couple staying there to have dinner in a great local restaurant. What a great treat.
Wander Granada, then take a break from the heat with a dip in the alluring pool.
Rob and Claudia were great hosts, they took excellent care of us, made us feel welcome and our two-year old loved the food and dogs. Rob had great recommendations for restaurants and we were centrally located to everything. I would happily recommend staying at Casa Silas to anyone considering it.
What can I say that the other reviews already havent? Rob´s place was by far one of our best experiences in Central America. Rooms are clean and beautiful, the courtyard and pool were a pleasure and the Host was the best part of all, friendly and helpful. Would reccomend to anyone visiting Granada.
We only stayed for 1 day/ 2nights, Granada is a great city and Casa Silas is in the perfect location, walking distance to practically everything. Room was big and clean (a/c and an epic ceiling fan). The house is a very mellow place to hang out, we had some Tonas with our feet in the pool - definitely your spot if you're looking for some quiet. Rob is a very knowledgeable and friendly host, and even got up at 3am to see us off!
So glad we decided to stay with Rob at Casa Silas. Rob was very helpfull with local attractions and transportation. His bed and breakfest is not only very clean but also very cozy and comfortable. I woul recomend his place to my best friend, if I wasn't already traveling wirh her.
Casa Silas was a far better quality in price, experience, and authentic Nicaraguan experience than any hotel in the area. The location was perfect, about a 5 minute walk to the main square but also close to the local market and bus stop. When you walk through the doors of Casa Silas a tranquil open courtyard welcomes you, complete with original paintings by Rob and tropical plants. The entire place felt like home while still reminding you that you are in the natural beauty of Nicaragua.
When you wake up you are greeted with fresh coffee, fruit, and typical Nicaraguan cuisine (all included!). While there are endless amounts of activities in Granada, we chose to spend an entire morning chatting with Rob and relaxing in the courtyard. If we head back to Granada we will definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
By the way, Rob- your dog is quite possibly the softest dog I've ever met. What a treat having Silas as another host in the house!
I found Casa Silas to be clean and comfortable, with all the comforts of home (a/c, wi-fi, warm showers, full kitchen, etc) Rob is easy to talk to and has a nice collection of books that he will loan you temporarily.
