We were extremely satisfied with our stay at The Artist's Suite! From timely responses to our pre-stay questions and requests and all the way through our departure, excellent is the word that can easily be used. They did everything they could to make us feel at home. The location is great and the suite we stayed in, the large suite, was very roomy and well appointed. The smaller suite is very small. We would happily stay there again and happily recommend The Artist's Suite to anyone planning a stay in Safed.
This is a wonderful, private studio in a great location in Tsfat between the artist's colony and the old Jewish quarter. The main room has a high vaulted ceiling with old stone arches. It is equiped with everything you need for a stay in Tsfat. Very comfortable bed, necessary kitchen supplies, and a fresh quart of milk! The hosts, who live next door, were attentive and responsive, yet the location is very private.
Unique atmospheric apartment -- large, simply furnished studio in old stone home with high arched ceilings and large modern bath with shower and Jacuzzi; private patio and garden in front. The apartment is around the corner from the Sheva Chsya glass factory and the Daniel Flattauer ceramics factory in the heart of the artists' quarter, not far from the Jewish quarters. A grocery store is also around the corner. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating with directions, offers to help or to show us glass blowing at work (which unfortunately we didn't have time for), shampoo in the bath, milk in the fridge and fruits and chocolates on the table.
Our hosts were super nice and friendly! Every detail was taken care of and whatever special request we had (and we had some :-S) they helped us in a very timely manner.
The place itself is quiet and lovely and strategically located, only a few minutes away from all the main attractions.
I would totally recommend this place to anyone, both couples and families. We will most likely come back at another time.
We couldn't have been happier - this was a superb place, in a great location, so close to historical sites, artists, great restaurants, and places to hang out. Shani and Sheva Chaya were gracious and available hosts, and we enjoyed meeting some of their friends, too. Sheva Chaya's water colors and glass blowing works are exquisite, and we were delighted to view a demonstration of her glass blowing. The apartment itself is spacious, a very uplifted reworking of a 400 year old site, with high ceilings, great light, great shower and jacuzzi, and a private yard. There was parking right out front, and it was easy to access. We highly recommend a stay with them, allowing several days to roam around Safed/Tsfat and the countryside.
I don't think I can write enough about how perfect this place is. My husband and I both loved it. Shani was there to great us when we arrived and provided extra supplies when he found out we were kosher. The place itself is beautiful and in a great location; directions made this hidden gem easy to find. It is small but has everything you need. 10 minute walk to the artist's market and all the ancient synagogues. The jacuzzi tub is great. Milk, cookies, and chocolate covered almonds were provided in the apartment, which we ate for breakfast. We were even able to attend a glass-blowing demonstration, which was a highlight of the trip. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
