Ubud, a town in central Bali, is far removed from crowded Kuta, and is regarded as the cultural centre of Bali. It is famous as an arts and crafts hub, and much of the town and nearby villages consist of artists workshops and galleries.
Ubud has in the last years developed to be one of the major places in the world for yoga, healing, and personal growth. Or, you can just come here and enjoy the great atmosphere and all the great places to eat.
There are some remarkable architectural and other sights to be found, and a general feeling of well being to be enjoyed, all thanks to the spirit, surroundings, and climate of the place. There are many tourists attractions in and around Ubud.
How to get to the meeting point when you arrive in Ubud. The pick up point is at Alchemy cafe in Jalan Penestanan. Before coming to Jalan Penestanan you have to drive through the town centre of Ubud to Antonio Blanco museum, which is a well known museum in Ubud.
Shortly after the museum there is a crossroad where you turn sharp left up jalan Penestanan, its a short drive about 500 meters, and you will find Alchemy cafe on the left side of the road. The best is to call me to find the way. Please note. Telephone number will only show when a reservation is made.
From the airport you can come by taxi or I can also arrange with a local driver from Ubud to pick you up at the airport.
After pick up I will take you to your lodging. Which is about 500 meters into the southern part of Penestanan village along a small pathway.
If you have any questions please ask.
All the best
We are right next to beautiful ricefields, palmtrees, and lovely greens. Its quiet since we are away from the mainroad. The villa is in a Balinese village. You will see farmers and local people doing their daily activities. Since we are close to nature you can hear the sounds of birds and other animals. Such as roosters and frogs. The lodging is in an enclosed and cozy garden.
Best way to get around in Ubud is by motorbike, or bike. Its fine by foot also. The lodging is along a narrow path from the mainroad through the neighborhood and the ricefields. You can access the lodging by motorbike.
If you are a beginner on motorbike and want to use a motorbike its wise to park at the motorbike rental only 5 min. walk away. As the path is narrow and a bit tricky for a beginner. If you want to give it a try afterall, you might experience a more intimate contact with the ricefield than initially planned. At your own peril!! : )
We can help you with motorbike rental, also. If you are more skilled on motorbike, have fun and drive along the path and develop your balancing skills.
All the best

This has been my second stay at Kadeks place and it was as nice as I expected! Lovely woman who is always busy to make your stay as comfortable as possible!
One of the best places in Indonesia we stayed at so far. Kadek is simply amazing and so are her breakfasts. She made great pancakes, but Jaya Bali was even better (hard to describe, very sweet). She organized everything we asked her about (taxi to the bus station, moped rental etc.) for cheap $$
I had a wonderful month being looked after by Kadek at the Villa Sawah. Her warmth, ability to solve problems, her delicious cooking and taxi skills made it the perfect place for me to discover Ubud. It is a very private, cosy and clean accommodation a good 30 mins walk from Ubud centre. Value for money was extraordinary as my friends stayed north of Ubud and paid double what I did; but received no service, breakfast or linen changes the entire month. Good Internet connection. Be prepared for the night noises of frogs, gekoe & roosters - very loud when it rains. I found all the little paths off the main road a little intimadating at first but, became used to the walk with its local residents. In Melbourne I would never walk alone at night but Penestanen was always safe with everyone greeting me with big smiles. I absolutely loved my month in Ubud and look forward to visiting again next winter.
Our favorite stay of our entire trip. Kadek was so so lovely, she would help us with everything we asked. Her breakfasts were AMAZING (banana pancake). I recommend this place 100%.
My stay was amazing. It was near perfect. Kadek was very accommodating and she went over and above to make sure I had a good stay. The only negatives I could think of were the Mosquitos in the room and the dog barking during the night time. Made it a tad bit difficult to sleep, but other than that i would highly recommend this place.
Kadek is a very nice lady who picked me up and dropped me off during the start& end of the stay. Her pancakes for breakfast were also delicious. The neighbourhood is a rather peaceful one with restaurants and cafes just a 5 minutes walk away. Unfortunately, this place is a little too far away from the city centre. It was quite a bit of a walk for me as I couldn't ride a motorbike & there weren't any bicycles for rental in that area (there was a rental shop, but no bicycles ). However, this shouldn't be an issue if you're exploring the place on motorbikes/scooters. taxis are also relatively cheap; check with kadek for how much you should pay for the rides first!
the air-con was faulty at times and I woke up sweating at night.
