About this listing
Cozy Room right in the heart of Trendy Bushwick, Brooklyn New York. Walking Distance to the Morgan stop on the L Train. Close to great bars and restaurants such as the Narrows, and Roberta's. Sink into a comfortable private room with a large queen bed, Flat screen TV with movies provided, Internet, and a swanky living area with great hosts ready to point you to the best places to eat or drink in the area. The kitchen is there for your use with a basic supply of eggs, milk, bread, pots, pans and glasses.
We also have access to a lovely back yard which can be a great escape for quiet and calm, however since it is accessible only through another roommates room, we only allow access if one of us is home.
Organic groceries are mere walking distance along with laundry and dry cleaning across the street should you need it. Come enjoy the Artistic vibe of Bushwick and/or just a nice relaxing room 15 minutes away from Manhattan on either the L or J train. There is also free alternate side parking on the block and generally spots are easy to find. We will provide you with more information of the surrounding area upon arrival.
The place is unique in that we really are proud of our home and we are proud of the neighborhood we live in. If you are interested in street art, great bars, great restaurants, and interesting people outside of Manhattan then this is especially the place for you. However it is also a quick ride to the city for those who prefer busier streets! Regardless we welcome all!
We ask that the guest are respectful to those living in the apartment. We will have basic nessesities provided. They are as follows: Bedding, towels, eggs, milk, bread. If you use the kitchen please tidy up after yourself. If you need anything please feel free to text or ask. We do have a cat named, Monday, she is very loving and sweet. This room is available for one or two people.
Mari and her roommates were friendly and warm hosts (including their cat, Monday). Their Bushwick location is perfect for a NYC visit, an easy walk to shops, restaurants and the subway.
We had a nice time in New York satying at this apartement. Mari is an experienced host and has nice recommendations if you want. She is nice and helpful although she has rarely been at home during our stay.
The apartment is located near to a busy street which can be very loud even at night. Morgan Stop (L-Train) is very easy to reach and you can get nearly everywhere by changing trains once.
The room you will be staying in belongs to the third roommate who is absent (on tour) during your stay. It feels a little bit like bumping into his privacy. The bed is big enough for two but it can be quite narrow especially if you move during sleeping. The room has no airconditioning which is no problem if there is no more than 25°C outside. The apartment itself was not as clean as we hoped it would be when we arrived and during our 9-nights-stay it got worse. You couldn't walk on the floor without stepping into some crumbs or other stuff. We don't mind if some dust is lying around but it's not nice having a look at pans from 3 days ago.
One day, there was a backyard barbecue which has been announced to us and was basically no problem, but the next morning, we found that there was a stranger (to us) sleeping on the couch in the living room which was quite a shock.
We would recommend this place for people who stay 2-3 nights and who appreciate a fast way to Manhatten.
It was great staying at Maris'. She was a nice host and the appartment is located nearby the L train which brings you really quick to Manhattan.
Mari was the perfect host, providing us with all the information we needed for our trip. The location of the apartment is fantastic, right in the centre of Bushwick with numerous restaurants around and with easy access into Manhattan on the subway. Would highly recommend staying here.
Mari was great and the place was perfect! Everything was described accurately. Really enjoyed our stay with Mari and felt very welcomed.
It was definitely beautiful and perfect place for me to have fun in Brooklyn, NYC. Maybe a few people would care about the sound from outside because it's near a big road. But still, I highly recommend this stellar place to anyone who will visit NYC. Especially, I loved that an adorable kitty welcomed me at home! Also, Mari was so kind and helpful. I really appreciate that.

About the Host, Mari & Rafael
I moved to New York City In 2009. I have a dance company, Mari Meade Dance Collective, and teach all kinds of dance to ages kids throughout the city. I've lived in New Orleans, California and North Carolina. I like exploring cities through the back roads- for example I went Basilica hunting in Rome, castle hunting in Scotland, and bar hopping in London. I love the arts, and try to stay involved in the local scenes wherever I go. I like to have a home base, somewhere simple and comfortable that we can come back to and relax in. I value honesty, openness, ideas and generosity. I love living in Brooklyn and really enjoy the art and music scene that is happening right now. I am also very in touch with the local scene and love introducing others to it. I also frequent many bars and restaurants in out neighborhood and am always willing to take in a night cap. My roommate, Danny, is a friendly, hilarious guy that works in the TV industry.
As a host I will be very informational on what goes around in the neighborhood, and let you know the ins and outs of Brooklyn and some really great places to eat! I am friendly and will do my best to make anyone feel comfortable and happy. We have a very comfortable living space that we have worked really hard to put together. We are very proud of it and love sharing it with people. We hope it serves others as well as it serves us! :)
