Comforts in Bushwick Brooklyn

Apartment - Private room · Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, United States

The Space

Cozy Room right in the heart of Trendy Bushwick, Brooklyn New York. Walking Distance to the Morgan stop on the L Train. Close to great bars and restaurants such as the Narrows, and Roberta's. Sink into a comfortable private room with a large queen bed, Flat screen TV with movies provided, Internet, and a swanky living area with great hosts ready to point you to the best places to eat or drink in the area. The kitchen is there for your use with a basic supply of eggs, milk, bread, pots, pans and glasses.

We also have access to a lovely back yard which can be a great escape for quiet and calm, however since it is accessible only through another roommates room, we only allow access if one of us is home.

Organic groceries are mere walking distance along with laundry and dry cleaning across the street should you need it. Come enjoy the Artistic vibe of Bushwick and/or just a nice relaxing room 15 minutes away from Manhattan on either the L or J train. There is also free alternate side parking on the block and generally spots are easy to find. We will provide you with more information of the surrounding area upon arrival.

The place is unique in that we really are proud of our home and we are proud of the neighborhood we live in. If you are interested in street art, great bars, great restaurants, and interesting people outside of Manhattan then this is especially the place for you. However it is also a quick ride to the city for those who prefer busier streets! Regardless we welcome all!

  • Even though I wasn't that much home, I had a great time while I was. The place is 5 minutes to the L train, which is SO convenient and I really like the area around. Small, good bars, restaurants(Robertas especially) and café's is just around the corner.. The room was nice, a bit cold, but I was also there in the coldest 14 days. I would def recommend it and especially with the price!!

  • Raf&Mari were a great host, they suggested us some good local restaurants where eating. The neighborhood wasn't the greatest, but it has many corner markets in the area. The place itself was pretty much exactly as pictured. we stayed here for four weeks, for the price, it was worth it!
If you need a cheap place to stay that's near major metro lines (L-J) to travel around, this place is a safe and good choice. Everything is okay but the room is not so clean, in addition the heating didn't work, so it's a bit cold. we had an electric heater to use. We obviously used it to heat up our room. The bathroom was a bit dirty and I don't think people living there/someone else concerned ever thought about cleaning it time to time. There is no washing machine.. Besides, everything is fine. The price is cheap so we think it's fine for a short-term stay but we wouldn't recommend this flat for longer stay or cold periods during the year - reasons cited above.

  • Even though I had much to do and we didn't se each other a lot, staying at Mari and Rafael's has been a real pleasure. The room was very comfortable and cosy, and Manhattan was very easy to reach from the flat. And such a lovely cat! I would definitely recommend staying there!

  • Raf was a great host. I especially appreciated the maps and local info so we could find our way around the city easily. Thanks!

  • This is a very nice location for the price. I have many pro's but a few cons.

Pro's 1. Very close to a subway station. 2. There is a few convenience stores with in a short walk from this location. Also a very good deli/sandwich shop and store right across the street. The place across the street is 24/7 too.
    3. Rafael and Mari were very accommodating with any thing I may need. 4. The neighborhood is a great area to explore!

Con: There isn't much bad I could say about staying there other than two things.
    1. Don't bring a car, unless you are very sure you can handle New York drivers and don't mind leaving your car parked on. The side of the street. 2. As nice as the room is at night sometimes it was hard to sleep because of the traffic outside or people that would sit outside the apartment building talking late at night. However, New York is the city that never sleeps, and it's a very large busy city, so I suppose it just comes with the way the city is.

Overall, staying with Rafael and Mari was a pleasure and I'd stay here again. And I would recommend that any of my friends stay there.

  • We had a very pleasant stay. Rafael was really friendly and relaxed. The location is perfect, close to the subway and near Williamsburg and Manhattan (20 min). We slept really well despite some noise from outside. Rafael gave us some good tips.
We had to share the bathroom with other gueste but this was no problem for us. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner though. The rate is excellent!

  • Had a wonderful time with hosts Rafeal and His wife. They are warm, friendly, and extremely helpful with transportation and ideas for entertainment. The room is clean and has all the necessary items to make my stay comfortable - including an awesome cat named Monday. The one shared bathroom in another room makes the stay a little less private and somewhat uncomfortable at times and the noise outside is difficult when you open the window. Other than this, the rate was excellent and the experience was comfortable.

  • Raphael and Mari are really nice people. Very open-minded and great and they gave us a lot of information about New York and the area. Bonus is the really cute cat Monday.
Brooklyn is so cool and the flat is in a perfect location (subway 2 minutes, market just across the street, bars and so on around the corner, record shop and comunity garden next door.), the room is nice and the appartement has everything you need.
We would love to come back again. Thanks for everything <3

About
I moved to New York City Four years ago to become a Public school teacher in NYC. I currently teach High school in the Bronx and I am an active musician in Brooklyn. I've lived in Spain, Arizona, Saudi Arabia, Florida, New Mexico, New Orleans and North Carolina. I like exploring cities through the back roads- for example I went Basilica hunting in Rome, castle hunting in Scotland, and bar hopping in London. I love the arts, and try to stay involved in the local scenes wherever I go. I like to have a home base, somewhere simple and comfortable that I can come back to and relax in. I value honesty, openness, ideas and generosity. I love living in Brooklyn and really enjoy the art and music scene that is happening right now. Although I am an educator, I am also very in touch with the local scene and love introducing others to it. I also frequent many bars in my neighborhood and am always willing to take in a night cap. As a host I will be very informational on what goes around in the neighborhood. Let you know the ins and outs of Brooklyn and some really great places to eat! I am friendly and will do my best to make anyone feel comfortable and happy. We have a very comfortable living space that we have worked really hard to put together. We are very proud of it and love sharing it with people. We hope it serves others as well as it serves us! :)
