GARDEN OF EDEN - on the pristine east coast of Grenada - soothing tradewinds, secluded beaches.
Wake up to the sapphire sea - sleep to the relaxing rhythm of the waves.
A tropical paradise...come share it with us!

The space

This unique seaside property includes a spacious main house; with organic gardens and fruit trees. Overlooking the beach, the main house is our residence and where we accommodate our B&B guests.
We often host international farming volunteers, they are housed in the surrounding cottages.
Although the property is in the process of receiving some TLC,
the Main House offers shabby chic and perfectly glorious ocean views over La Pierre Point.
Your private guest room is spacious and breezy, with windows all around and a very comfy king-size bed. The bathroom is located down the hall.
Our guest rooms do NOT have kitchen facilities.
Dinner service is also available...just let us know ahead of time.
US $15.00 per person

Guest access

Our guests have access to the huge veranda with a hammock
perfect for chilling in the breeze and we also have billiards and darts
in the great room.
The property includes two secluded beaches - one at either end - with safe swimming and a fresh water river too.
Truly spectacular hiking abounds.

Interaction with guests

Laura and Jason are happy to share Grenada's island culture with guests - Laura is originally from Toronto, CAN but has been at home in Grenada for over 10 years, her husband Jason, a passionate gardener, is Grenadian with roots in the nearby mountains.
Breakfast provides the ideal opportunity to chat and perhaps meet our international volunteers too.

We can assist you with tips for organizing your outings to the mountain-top Sulpher Springs, the Rain Forest, Water Falls or maybe the Cocoa Estate or Rum Factory.
...perhaps a Friday night outing to catch a local Reggae band...

Or we can be your tour guide - let us drive - you can sit back and enjoy the fabulous scenery. And we will make certain you get the local perspective, the real Grenada!
(please ask about our 1/2 day and full-day personalized tour prices)

...Or maybe, you simply want quiet relaxation and contemplation, no worries...you will find that here.

Other things to note

Most of the tourist action in on the other side of the island, but Grenada is small so it is just 1/2 hour drive to the capital St. Georges and the famous Grand Anse Beach.
Remember, the closest shopping is 2 miles distance, at the main road.

A vehicle makes getting around easier, but If you like walking, the bus is available every day (except Sundays) also from the main road.
We have a few goats, rabbits, sometimes chickens and always dogs.
And yes, we offer dinner too - great food - just let us know, we would be happy to put together a meal for you!

We hope when you stay with us - you will enjoy all the natural splendor surrounding our Garden of Eden.

The seaside property, once a cottage resort, is now a little bit overrun.
But the relaxing vibe and fabulous views will more than make up for it.
And we do our utmost to keep the jungle from taking over completely. Lol

About the WATER -
Our water is pumped from the property well.
We aim to practice sustainable water usage, therefore water for guest usage (showers/bathing) is available only twice daily; mornings and evenings, or at special request.
We recommend all our guests purchase a 1 gallon bottle of spring water.
This can be purchased at the gas/petrol station on the way from the airport.
We recommend this as a way to allow your digestive system to gradually adapt to the foreign water supply. As the temperature is quite hot, it will be necessary for you to drink more water in order to remain hydrated. Drinking an excess of local water may very well cause tummy upset - and there are far better places to spend your time in Grenada than on the loo. :-)
We also catch rain water in large drums located adjacent the buildings.

The available electricity is adequate, but not extensive.
Your guestroom is equipped with two bedside lamps and one power bar.

A guest bath towel is provided for you during your stay.

Linens are changed once weekly.

Dinner service is available upon request - US $15.00 per person.
Let us know ahead of time so we can be prepared for you.

Please NO smoking in your room - but outdoors on the veranda is fine.

Dog(s) live in the house

On Fridays and Saturdays the minimum stay is 2 nights.

Laura and her husband were welcoming hosts and took me around the side of the island for 60usd. They provided a lot of history and information about the island. The remote location was great to relax. Meeting family and having Grenadian food was the perfect experience.

Although the location is stunning, and the family is quite nice, it is entirely impractical to stay here if you did not rent a small jeep. The food prepared by Laura was decent, but perhaps not worth $15 per meal. However, unfortunately, you are not allowed to cook in the kitchen-- not even to boil water. Getting to town is quite a hike, and practically inaccessible without a vehicle. Therefore, if you do not have a rental (a small jeep because the road to the house is rather bumpy) you have limited options of what to do and where to go. I wish I had known that hot water was unavailable before I got there, but it made sense and wasn't terrible. I think the hosts do take suggestions seriously, as complaints from other reviews had been taken care of: there were outlets available, a fan in the room, additional lights, etc. However, the windows did not close properly, so bugs still got in and would bite, and one of the lights was rather fickle about staying on. Another note, is the charges do compiled quickly, as there were no other options but the services Laura provided (e.g. being unable to cook, and ride services). Personally, I did not find Laura to be hospitable, but it could be a difference in personalities, as many other peole enjoyed her hosting skills. I found everyone else in the family to all be incredibly welcoming and kind, and I enjoyed spending time with them. There was miscommunication about the rides, and costs, but it was ultimately sorted just fine. Ultimately, the stunning views of the home and the friendships were worth it, but I may have done things quite differently if I were to to it again.

Lovely stay here. The hosts, a husband wife team made me feel welcome on this beautiful island. They are knowledgable and resourceful and will help guide you to places of interest to you. The house is a large former hotel, has a fantastic hammock facing the water and flowering trees is where is spend much of my time. Their food is as outstanding as their company. Do be sure to bring bug spray and anti itch cream as there are a lot of mosquitoes here (to the best of my knowledge there are no incidence of zika here) as well as other bugs. For anti itch cream bring 1% hydrocortizone. There are no poisonous bugs or snakes which means the rainforest is very safe to explore (with a guide). As a woman traveling alone I felt safe and welcome on the island. As a woman traveling alone men will try to talk to you (all the time). My best advice is to smile, be polite but do not stop to chat (unless you want to of course). Not responding with a hello is considered rude but if you wave and say hello as you are walking they get the message. The public transport is fantastic and very inexpensive, it can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go. I did a lot of hiking, and my host Laura gave me great advice by telling me about a legendary guide Telfor Bedeu. There is a small beach right by the house which is almost always deserted, gave me a chance to take a swim every day without having to travel anywhere. The house is home to 2 adorable dogs - one will happily take you around the property and show you the hiking trail in the area. Follow him and he'll lead you to a seaside restaurant about half an hour away from the house - try the escargot :). This stay was an outstanding value for the price, I paid less for 5 nights here then I would have in a large hotel in Saint George.

Thank you for your informative review Viktoria. We enjoyed having you stay with us. Bruno (our dog) spent a couple of days looking for you to return for more hiking. You're so right, at this time of year the mosquitoes and sandflies can be troublesome, bug spray is a must May through October when the rain is more plentiful. All the best. Laura and Jason were extremely welcoming. Jason picked me up at the airport, and Laura offered to drop me at my next stop in Grenada after my stay concluded since it was on her way to work. Laura is an excellent cook and made dinner the three evenings I visited- something I'd recommend if you're visiting without a car. The two also gave an excellent, varied tour around the island on my first full day in Grenada. As described in the listing, it's a remote location. Public buses run fairly often from the main road, but it's roughly a two-mile, steep at times walk to that spot (about 30 mins). If you're looking to disconnect, enjoy the ripping sea breeze, and enjoy secluded beaches, Laura's home is the ticket.

Laura and her husband were excellent hosts! It was so lovely to be on a secluded beach, and the trade winds keep the air fresh and comfortable. Breakfasts on the veranda were relaxing, with lots of local spice & flavor. The morning light is like none I've ever seen! Be aware that this is a remote area, do not expect to have all the conveniences & amenities of a town and hotel. Water only runs in the morning & night, and it isn't hot - but in the climate, it doesn't need to be. We were fortunate to be there when they both had some free time, and we went together on some great adventures. They gave us lots of good info on things to do, that suited our actual desires (rather than just typical tourist stuff). I felt right at home. <3

I had an absolutely amazing time staying with Laura and Jason. They were very accommodating, taking care of my needs. I ended up getting close with Laura and Jason eating dinner and sharing drinks every night. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. We would sit and talk for hours drinking rum out on the beautiful veranda over looking the ocean. It truly is a beautiful piece of property. I highly recommend it to everyone and anyone.
