-> don't put garbage outside; across the street you can find an underground rubbish container
I had a great time at Sander's place. The apartment was very clean, had all the necessary amenities and good location. Sander was an amazing host who took the time to give us an overview of Amsterdam when we initially checked in. Overall I would highly recommend his place.
The apartment was great - vast, very well furnished, very clean, fully equipped. It was exactly as shown in the pictures (including the garden...). The neighborhood is very calm, with a public sports facilities just across the street ( great for kids!). It is about ten minutes from the city center by tram.
We were very warmly welcomed by Sander our host. He gave us very detailed explanation about all the home appliances, the facilities in the neighborhood and provided great tips about how to get along in the city in terms of public transport and navigation. Sander is very knowledgeable about Amsterdam and Holland, and devoted his valuable time to consult us on attractions and sightseeing, which proved very helpful.
In short - a great apartment and a great host! we highly recommend it!
Sander was helpful the apartment was as described . The location was a little bet far from the center, but public transportation is always there.
The apartment was clean and the garden was great, specially for smokers.
Thanks for the great tip Sander.
We were welcomed to Amsterdam with flying colors. Our host Sander was in constant contact with us before we arrived and we missed meeting him in person by a day or so. His beautiful friend Jorrien came and let us in, showed us around and went over maps while we relaxed to a cup of coffee. And to our pleasant surprise we got to chat with Sander over the phone. The 6 days we spent in Amsterdam were magical only because we had such a wonderful place to stay. The garden was very inviting and we spent a lot of time out there. The grocery store is 2 blocks away. The tram is even closer than that. I'd highly suggest you choose this apartment. You will love it, the quiet neighborhood and easy access to everything, by tram. All of the pictures were exactly the way it looks and actually it's even better to see it for yourself.
Thank you Sander for the text messages checking in on us. We felt like family and you will always be a part of our family.
Regards, Debbie and Richmond
We stayed at Sander’s place almost a week. The moment we arrived we were welcomed by him and you felt right away like its your second home. The host is amazing – he offered us some wine and cheese while he showed us around and gave us a lot of good tips and ideas what to do while we visited Amsterdam! The place is very spacious and super clean. Bed is very comfortable and the apartment has a full size kitchen if you’d feel to cook at home. We visited Amsterdam in March so it was a bit cold outside but guess what – there’s a private garden too! So if you’re visiting during spring or summer then its like a jackpot – you could spend time in the garden and chill there. The location is very close to some million-zillion restaurants and bars and about 5 minutes from Dam sqaure with the tram. The apartment is facing to a quiet side of the area and thatswhy there’s no noise coming from the outside. Its a perfect place to stay while in Amstedam!
About the Host, Sander
First of all thanks for your curiosity! My name is Sander, since 5 years a lecturer of commercial economics at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam. Before I started this new challenge I have worked for several companies in the sales department.
In between jobs I backbacked through Asia, Central and South America for 1 year, so you can imagine my interest for travelling! I have experienced the most amazing things, but people have always made the difference. In that perspective my long time friends describe me (yes I've asked!) as an adventurous, social, sincere, funny, energetic guy that loves good wine and good food in good company.
After renting out my apartment for several years through different websites I can honestly say that I enjoy hosting people and advising them on what to do while they are here. Since this is the house I personally live in, it's always my goal to achieve a certain connection with every guest in order to trust them with my property. So far this approach has resulted in overall satisfaction and quite some new friends. So let me know what your interests are and you will experience Amsterdam feeling like a local instead of a tourist!
