Great spot of you are looking to be in the heart of the action. Nicolas left clear directions and a great list of.things to do.
Nicolas was a gracious host and was helpful in coordinating our stay here in Dublin. The location is absolutely fantastic, situating itself right above the famous Temple Bar. I would definitely recommend booking this flat if you are looking for a great location and time here in Dublin!
Unbeatable location. Very kind and accommodating host. Very cosy sleeping arrangements but perfectly fine for what you need. If you want a crash pad in the centre of town, you won't find one better than this! Thanks Nicolas.
Not even one star.....What a dump! The rugs were dirty, the linens were old and ratty looking, the bathroom was disgusting, with mold. The toilet seat was loose, shower head was broke and the light didn't work. The stove was filthy. The convenience doesn't make up for the disgusting upkeep. Sure, he called a cab for us but for the money we paid, there is no way I would EVER stay there again. Sorry Nicolas, you should fire your cleaning people.
After booking this place (via Wi-Fi) I was told that I needed to text Nicolas. With international fees, texting was not good for me and my group, being international travelers. Nicolas would not respond to my air B&B message after I confirmed the booking. I did not get any message from Nicolas until after we reached out to air B&B's support after being in Dublin, waiting for three hours.
Once he finally contacted us, he said it was his housekeeper's fault because Nicolas was away on vacation.
So once we got his housekeepers number we had to pay for international text messaging to contact him, after telling Nicolas this wasn't an option.
30 minutes later his housekeeper Fernando texted back wanting to know when we'd be there we told him five minutes it was 8 PM, well after our check in time of 5 PM.
we showed up at the door and buzzed him he came down after five minutes and told us to come back in an hour and a half while he "cleans up the place."
so we had to hold our luggage another two hours in the freezing cold and rain.
when we finally got into our apartment at 10 PM, it seemed as though Fernando had been partying in the apartment. as there were empty beer cans on the ground. Maybe he needed until 11 PM to clean up. Very awkward.
Too many things in the apartment were broken.
shower completely broken I had to rig the shower head to the wall using tape and wooden rods so it could be used as a shower. I cannot tell you how frustrating this was.
Not a single heater (4 of them) in the place worked, so we had to use the oven to keep warm. #truth
The washing machine is broken and sounded like broken pieces of plastic were snapping the entire time it ran.
toilet seat hinge broken.
blow dryer broken.
Nicolas is stealing two of his neighbors Wi-Fi. you will be lucky to get dial up speeds half the time, the other half you'll be lucky to even connect.
Bathroom smells like smoke.
plenty of space
good bedding and comfortable
Out of the 48 hours we were in Dublin, the first four were spent wasted and we were literally moments away from booking a hotel when he finally got back to me. I had to buy a beer in a bar just to use a restroom.
The apartment is in a five-star location, however our experience was closer to zero stars.
We had a wonderful time at this apartment! Great location! It's definitely not a quite apartment but that's exactly what we were looking for! Street performers right outside your window that are amazing. There is no need to put on your own music all you need to do is open your window it was fantastic! We loved every minute of it! Nicholas was so accommodating,he has all the information you can need in a booklet he wrote himself. It is very helpful. With his friends he helped us carry our bags to our apartment it was fantastic after a long day of travel! There really isn't a complaint that I have about the apartment that's worth talking about. If you want a quite apartment this is not the one for you if you're looking for a place that is very accessible to pubs and restaurants I don't think you'll find anywhere much better!!
Nicolas' place was right in the heart of the best nightlife in Dublin, so it was really convenient for late nights. You just have to be aware of the loudness for the nights that you want to turn in early. The apartment was also a little chilly. In general however, it was great for the price and I'd recommend it.
Group of 5 girls stayed here for NYE.
Right above Temple Bar Pub, can't get any better than that!
Location was great, walking distance to everything.
Be prepared, since the flat is located above Temple Bar Pub,
it will be loud until 3AM. Make sure to bring ear plugs.
Fernando the housekeeper went above and beyond to help
with lost luggage from Aer Lingus as I did not have an
Cons: the shower head is detachable but the holder was
broken and shower head was laying on the bathtub when we
arrived. we had to improvise and tie up the shower head w/
rope back onto the holder. In addition, only 2 -3 girls
would have hot water, the rest would have cold showers.
Wifi wasn't the best the either but good enough. There's
restaurants, other places that had wifi so this wasn't much
of an issue.
Overall the location was perfect and I would stay again just for
that. It's so convenient and close to everything. You can go
barhopping and stumble back to the flat.
Could not have been a better location.
We really enjoyed our stay there.
We were 6 and it was not an issue.
We did not meet Nicolas personally but he reacted promptly to all questions.
Nicolas was incredible to work with. Although we never got to meet him, he was very quick to respond to messages! He allowed us to leave our luggage in his flat until our check-in time which was very sweet. We met with his flat-mate who was one of the kindest people my husband and I have ever met. He was super accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for our stay.
The PERFECT street to experience Dublin, we were only there for only one day and a half and felt like we got the perfect idea of what Dublin has to offer and got to meet a lot of nice people. If you have a love of music, be ready to hear musicians playing in the street outside your window. Dublin has some of the best musicians we've ever heard. We also took a train to Howth, which is absolutely GORGEOUS if you love nature and hiking (it's one of Nicholas' recommendations). He has a whole pamphlet of them set out for you :)
