There are many consulates in the neighborhood and therefore more of a presence of the New York Police Department (NYPD). My apartment is on the front of the building and therefore faces the beautifully shaded St Vartan's Park across the Street!

As others have said, Rip was a fantastic host and his apartment was all that I could have asked for and was in a great location. I was only in town for a very short visit and didn't have a whole lot of time to explore around the neighborhood, but it felt like a very safe neighborhood when I arrived at around 10pm. I noticed mainly youngish - 30s or so - people out and about. It was a very convenient location to get around the city from.
Rip was very hospitable, despite my brief stay. He provided coffee (french press) as well as some delicious locally made granola to make me feel at home. The bed was super comfortable, and the room had all that I needed, including wifi, a desk, and a hair dryer.
I plan to come back to stay with Rip on my next visit to NYC!
This AirBnB experience was not only convenient but hospitality-charged. Rip is a not just an accommodating host but attentive and genuinely inquisitive about his guest. He takes breakfast requests and is really helpful providing with local information. Our mutual interest in literature and art in general rounded out a trip trip that was based on my seeing some theatre over the weekend. The apartment is located in a favourable part of town, easily accessed by cabs and public transit. I could've melted in that guest bed - what a great pillow top! Overall, this was an ideal find :)
Como siempre, espectacular. Rip sigue siendo un host a otro nivel. Infinitamente agradecida por abrir una vez mas las puertas de su casa.
Rip Brown is one of the most wellcoming and hospitable person I've ever met. I'm really grateful to him for care about my comfortable as at home. In my opinion this apartment is very cozy and has location in a convenient place. When I get my apartment I also fill it with interesting things and souvenirs from the other countries. My travel in New York was magnificent! Thank you, Rip!
I call him my new york dad! :) It's my first time in the US and Rip made me feel so much at home. His place is very warm and pleasant -- this place is even better than my stay at SOHO Grand Hotel. No kidding! Such a safe place especially for young female professionals. So convenient also to go to must-see places at NY. Would highly recommend for those who are not sure where to stay. Have nothing but positive feedback for Rip! Thanks again dad! See you soon!
nice and kind host
I did not know that I stay with host, but it did not matter.
Rip is definitely an excellent host. Highly recommended. He also provides kitchen for me to use, and morning coffee for my stay. Also very nice location.
